The losses are determined based on direct method for analysis of motor efficiency. The method is presented for fractional losses analysis with consideration harmonics generated by PMW. The introduced method earmarks the fundamental harmonic components of electrical magnitudes for comparison purposes of different harmonic and non-harmonic sourcing types. Used piezoelectric transformer works in radial vibration mode. To verify the power supply function the full bridge convertor was used. Packa","doi":"10.1109/EPE.2017.7967276","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/EPE.2017.7967276","url":null,"abstract":"The aim of this work is the evaluation of the data obtained from experimental PV solar system performance. 500 Wp PV system is installed on the roof of Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology of Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, Slovakia. In addition the obtained results are compared with the PVGIS simulation. A brief summary of components and construction parts of photovoltaic system, description of the individual elements forming the system (photovoltaic modules, the inverters and the equipment of measuring and data processing) is given. The electrical parameters of PV system and irradiation intensity which allows the calculation of efficiency during the operation of PV grid connected systems are measured. Moreover, the measurements of weather and environmental factors like temperature and other (humidity and air pressure, wind speed) have been continuously done. In the recent years, new sources of primary energy, mostly renewable, appeared next to traditional fuels. In the modelling of energy transformation, energy carriers are treated as endogenous variables and it is postulated that electrical energy generation should be treated as an exogenous variable. An exogenous variable can be introduced as a scenario or it can be stated as a result of a chronological series forecast. Modern forecasting methods employ time series with a large number of samples. The paper presents a method for preparing this variable on the basis of a description of load variation in the power system. The recognition is performed using Artificial Neural Networks and all the input data are signals from flex sensors, accelerometers and gyroscopes, positioned differently on each device. After being trained, validated and tested, the network reachs hit rate about 95.8%. Using the voltages and currents of both line ends, the differential impedance is calculated. Capacitive charging current which constitutes the main drawback of current differential protection is eliminated in presented protection method. What is more, the advantage of presented impedance differential protection is ability to determine the fault location. For evaluating the validity of considered protection scheme, computer simulation based on ATP-EMTP was carried out. Strongly inhomogeneous structure of these systems is the main problem which may lead to defect during operation life. Main aim of this paper is to introduce novel composite material designed for insulating system of high voltage equipment. This material is composed of epoxy resin matrix with dispersed magnesium oxide (MgO) nanoparticles and polyethylene naphthalate (PEN) film. The main emphasize is placed on behaviour of this material in AC electric field depending on frequency of testing voltage and ambient temperature and also on the behaviour in DC field. The characterization in AC field is based on broadband dielectric spectroscopy, on the other hand the behaviour in DC field is characterized by dielectric absorption. Currently the research in this area is new and rapidly developing.
