The daily energy losses and the flatness of the voltage profile are objective functions used in the optimization problem. The proposed procedure is based on a co-simulation setup between a tool for metaheuristic optimization and a tool for power system simulations. The profiles of the renewable (photovoltaic and wind) plant production as well as consumers' load shape are taken into account in the optimization problem. The presented procedure has been applied to the IEEE 13 Node Test Feeder. The lowest yearly energy losses that can be obtained for given input data are about 45 % decreased compared to the losses in the case without the installed distributed generations. The best index of the voltage profile flatness obtained by optimization is 0.0809 [p.u.] while it was 0.095 [p.u.] without installed distributed generations. The impact of the load shape on the optimal allocation of DGs has been investigated also.","PeriodicalId":201378,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 3rd International Conference and Workshop in Óbuda on Electrical and Power Engineering (CANDO-EPE)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134465256","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This involves a large scale of low voltage cables based polymeric insulation. During the normal operation of nuclear power plants, the insulating materials degrade due to several stresses. Therefore, monitoring the insulation integrity of cables is of utmost importance. In this work, low voltage cable samples used in nuclear facilities were exposed to simultaneous thermal and mechanical accelerated aging. The combined aging effect on the cable's insulation condition was based on the measurement of return and decay voltages slope. With the aging period increased, a decreasing fashion was observed for the return voltage slope. While on the contrary, the voltage decay slope increased.","PeriodicalId":201378,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 3rd International Conference and Workshop in Óbuda on Electrical and Power Engineering (CANDO-EPE)","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131458400","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The integration of RES reduces transmission losses and increases the operational reliability of the distribution network, while new problems associated with this change arise, especially in systems of protected and localized failures in the networks. Distribution systems are traditionally associated with the radial topology of larger networks. The standard STN EN 60909 (33 3020) does not take into account the contributions of photovoltaic stations, while their impact takes into account the growing number and performance in distribution networks will be crucial for changes in the systems of protected equipment in the future.","PeriodicalId":201378,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 3rd International Conference and Workshop in Óbuda on Electrical and Power Engineering (CANDO-EPE)","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131562762","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Requirements of horticultural lighting differ significantly from human-based lighting applications in terms of spectral and spatial distribution of light. LED luminaires can be placed much closer to plants compared to HID light sources therefore in a typical LED grow light application the luminaire cannot be regarded as a point like source. As a consequence, far field goniometry measurements do not provide proper information to calculate spatial distribution of Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density (PPFD) for vertical farms because the inverse square law is no longer applicable in case of LED luminaires having size comparable to the distance between the luminaire and the illuminated surface. We discuss the dependence of PPFD uniformity as a function of geometrical parameters and estimate the efficiency of LED lighting from the crop growth point of view.","PeriodicalId":201378,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 3rd International Conference and Workshop in Óbuda on Electrical and Power Engineering (CANDO-EPE)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126805206","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The losses in pump application can be categorized into adjustment losses and dimensioning losses. The paper is aim to show that adjusting the pump speed with Variable Speed Drive (VSD) and using VSD to control parallel pumps can bring reduction of both losses and potential energy and economic savings. The purpose of the study is to determine the more efficient and versatile ways to increase the energy efficiency in pumping system. The study has identified four main opportunities to achieve significant energy and economic savings: by using energy efficient motors and pump, the right dimensions of motor rated power and pump, adjustment of pump speed by VSD instead of throttling valve, control of parallel pumps by VSD. The paper has examined the feasibility of using variable speed drives to adjust the speed of pump application and control of parallel pumps in Lezha pumping station. The paper aims to highlight, based on life cycle analysis that the proposed measures have ensure potential reduction of energy consumption from 20% up to 40%, reduction of CO2, reduction of maintenance costs of pumping systems, improvement of financial situation of Lezha water company, etc.","PeriodicalId":201378,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 3rd International Conference and Workshop in Óbuda on Electrical and Power Engineering (CANDO-EPE)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121473096","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The article represents the temperature dependence of an electrical response for a Dye Sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC) based on experimental data. This fundamental electrical response is the maximum power point on the bases of the incoming light irradiation and the cell temperature. The temperature of the cell was modified between 31 °C to 40 °C and ΔT step was 1 °C. Results seemingly show on the bases of the temperature that the slope of the maximum power point for the examined DSSC same as the slope of maximum power point for a silicon solar cell.","PeriodicalId":201378,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 3rd International Conference and Workshop in Óbuda on Electrical and Power Engineering (CANDO-EPE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131913641","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In many recent literatures reported on COVID-19, one or more essential parts of such investigation were missed. One of crucial elements for any predictive method is that such methods should fit simultaneously as many data as possible; these data could be total infected cases, daily hospitalized cases, cumulative recovered cases and deceased cases and so on. Other crucial elements include sensitivity and precision of such predictive methods on amount of data as the contagious disease evolved day by day. To show importance of these aspects, we have evaluated the standard SIRD model and a newly introduced Gaussian-SIRD model on development of COVID-19 in Kuwait. It is observed that SIRD model quickly pick up main trends of COVID-19 development; but Gaussian-SIRD model provides precise prediction at longer period of time.","PeriodicalId":201378,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 3rd International Conference and Workshop in Óbuda on Electrical and Power Engineering (CANDO-EPE)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128973844","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In recent years, various proposals for autonomous valet parking emerged. However, this problem still cannot be promptly handled with reliable trajectories for vehicles to follow. Therefore, this paper proposed a novel global trajectory planning method which generates reliable trajectories with given start configuration and vacant parking space. To be detailed, global path obtained by an improved A* algorithm, which is a rough solution, provides waypoints for the trajectory planning as the reference. Moreover, this planning of trajectory is transformed into an optimal control problem for the solving of trajectory. Considering the probability of failure in the solving process, segmented planning is utilized to reduce the size of constraints, as well as rewind and relaxation applied to improve the convergence. The performance of this global trajectory planning algorithm is evaluated through the simulation in a designed parking lot scenario.","PeriodicalId":201378,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 3rd International Conference and Workshop in Óbuda on Electrical and Power Engineering (CANDO-EPE)","volume":"63 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132259106","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The current sensors of a classical inductive current transformer and a Rogowski coil are compared. To evaluate the actual influence on the NILM, measurements are performed with two measuring systems with different current sensors. With these measuring systems, 20 different consumers with 50 switch-on and switch-off cycles are measured in parallel. Besides, the influence of the sampling rate on the results of the NILM classification is evaluated. The classification is carried out with features normalized to the performance and without phase information, so only the signal waveform is used to differentiate the devices.","PeriodicalId":201378,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 3rd International Conference and Workshop in Óbuda on Electrical and Power Engineering (CANDO-EPE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130105054","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
