This confusion mainly stems from the tendency of Indian botanists to utilize weak key characters to differentiate the species. We have discussed both the variable as well as distinguishing features of the Lophopogon species and revised the key to make it more efficient. Upon a thorough morphological study of the recently described L. prasannae, we have concluded that it is but a variable form of an obscure species L. kingii. Therefore, we now consider it a new heterotypic synonym of the latter. While re-evaluating the previously misidentified specimens of Lophopogon, we have established two new distributional records of L. kingii for the states of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, South India. In L. kingii a characteristic whitish indumentum is observed, which is confined to the base of the plant and is not observed in any of the variable forms of L. tridentatus. Based on this character, we have restructured and simplified the identification key for easy and accurate species delimitation. We have also provided a brief discussion on the phenotypic variability of both the species, along with photo plates to facilitate identification and showcase a variability spectrum in plant habit. Distribution of L. kingii is plotted on the map based on the available specimens at BSI, BSID, CAL and K herbaria.\u0000

The identity of O. xizangensis with the previously described O. dochenensis is shown; on the contrary, O. aromatica is singled out as an independent taxon. Ostericum scaberulum var. longiinvolucellatum is included in the genus Oreocomopsis as an independent species. Taxonomic features of the genus and differences from related genera are analysed. The species Oreocomopsis stelliphora has been assigned to the new genus Oreocomoides. The new genus Oreocomoides markedly differs from Oreocomopsis in many morphological characters, such as heterophyllous leaf blades: bipinnate in lower part and narrow-linear pinnate in upper part; bracts polymorphic, linear or pinnate with linear lobules; calyx teeth developed; petals with oval plate, at base with well-developed claw; pedicels rounded; mericarps ribs similar, narrowly-winged, slightly widened at the base.\u0000

Much work remains before a thorough understanding of the Mexican species is reached, and the present contribution aims to unambiguously allow the application of 14 names by clarifying their types. Some of these are distributed outside of Mexico, including Canada, the United States, Central America, South America, and the Antilles. Lectotypes of the following names are designated: E. biformis, E. boliviana, E. elastica, E. gumaroi, E. lancifolia, E. luciismithii, E. macropus, E. mendezii, E. potosina, E. subreniformis, and E. umbellulata. In the absence of original material, neotypes are selected for the following names: E. nudiflora, E. tanquahuete, and E. vermiculata. Here we report a leaf spot disease caused by Coniella eucalyptorum on Eucalyptus camaldulensis in Sri Lanka. The pathogen was isolated from symptomatic leaf samples of E. camaldulensis plants from Polonnaruwa District in Sri Lanka. The isolated fungus was identified as C. eucalyptorum based on morphological characteristics and multi-gene phylogenetic analysis of combined sequences of the internal transcribed spacer region (ITS), the partial translation elongation factor 1-α gene (tef1-α), and large subunit of nuclear ribosomal RNA (LSU). The pathogenicity test was performed to confirm its pathogenicity to the host, which produced symptoms similar to those observed in the field. This is the first report of C. eucalyptorum associated with Eucalyptus plantations in Sri Lanka. This finding is important to expand the knowledge of plant pathogen diversity in Eucalyptus species and other economically important crops in Sri Lanka.\u0000
