Typical optical demoiréing methods employ low-pass filters to remove the high-frequency components responsible for generating moiré patterns. However, these methods will reduce image detail. The arrangement of photosensitive pixel arrays is confined to a regular pattern in semiconductor fabrication. This limitation imposes severe restrictions on related optical designs. In this work, we propose a metasurface-based random microlens array (RMLA) to fundamentally eliminate moiré artifacts. The proposed architecture features continuous and randomly distributed light-collection regions coupled with regularly arranged focal points aligned to the pixel grid. This configuration imposes a physically nonuniform light-footprint on the CMOS pixels, effectively decoupling the sampling process from the scene periodicity. Consequently, spectral aliasing in the luminance channel is intrinsically suppressed, theoretically approximating continuous nonuniform sampling. Both simulation and experimental results verify that moiré patterns induced by signals near the Nyquist limit are effectively eliminated without sacrificing spatial resolution. Unlike computational approaches requiring heavy post-processing, our method offers a passive optical solution that can be optically coupled with commercial off-the-shelf CMOS sensors without modifying the underlying circuitry. This work opens up a new dimension in optical design, offering a viable path to alias-free imaging systems.","PeriodicalId":20048,"journal":{"name":"Photonics Research","volume":"2 1","pages":"4414"},"PeriodicalIF":7.6,"publicationDate":"2026-09-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"149020122","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":1,"RegionCategory":"物理与天体物理","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Two-photon microscopy (TPM) employing elongated point spread functions (PSFs) enables fast volumetric imaging and depth decoding; however, acquiring depth information becomes unreliable when signals from different axial positions overlap or exhibit similar spatial profiles. To address this limitation, we develop a dual-view gradient excitation TPM (Dvge-TPM) that introduces an engineered intensity imbalance between the left and right PSF arms. This design encodes the axial information simultaneously into two independent features: the spatial separation distance and the fluorescence intensity ratio of the projection pair. Through dual-feature cross-validation, Dvge-TPM enables simultaneous depth reconstruction across a 60-μm-thick volume with a depth localization error of only 1.37 μm. We further demonstrate the capability of Dvge-TPM by tracking C. elegans nuclear division, monocyte/macrophage migration, and neuronal calcium dynamics, highlighting its potential for high-speed, accurate three-dimensional imaging of complex, dynamic biological systems.","PeriodicalId":20048,"journal":{"name":"Photonics Research","volume":"17 1","pages":"4326"},"PeriodicalIF":7.6,"publicationDate":"2026-09-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"149020137","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":1,"RegionCategory":"物理与天体物理","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Quantum feedback control is one of the most established strategies, but its reliance on measurement and real-time feedback imposes intrinsic limitations from measurement backaction and latency. Here, we propose and experimentally realize a measurement-free quantum feedforward control scheme, together with a composite framework that sequentially combines quantum feedforward control and quantum feedback control. We demonstrate both theoretically and experimentally that quantum feedforward control effectively protects nonorthogonal quantum states without measurement, while the composite strategy achieves superior performance when measurement is available, which makes it a practical alternative to quantum feedback control. These results establish quantum feedforward control as an independent control approach beyond quantum feedback control and highlight the advantages of the composite scheme, providing a new route toward high-fidelity quantum information processing in noisy environments.","PeriodicalId":20048,"journal":{"name":"Photonics Research","volume":"1 1","pages":"4292"},"PeriodicalIF":7.6,"publicationDate":"2026-09-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"149020138","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":1,"RegionCategory":"物理与天体物理","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Through strong coupling with optical cavities, advanced polaritonic devices such as polariton lasers, switches, and transistors have been widely reported. However, the scalability of these TMD-based polaritonic devices remains constrained by micrometer-scale mechanically exfoliated monolayers. Here, we demonstrate large-area scalable exciton polariton devices using electrochemically exfoliated monolayer WS 2 inks. Through interfacial self-assembly, such monolayer WS 2 inks can form densely packed WS 2 films with precise layer-number control. Integrating the WS 2 films with Fabry-Pérot microcavities achieves strong coupling with characteristic anti-crossing dispersions. Crucially, the exciton-photon coupling strength scales linearly with the square root of the layer number, enabled by organic molecular spacers from electrochemical intercalation, which helps to preserve monolayer excitonic properties while enhancing collective oscillator strength. Lithographic patterning further enables spatially confined exciton polaritons. This work establishes a scalable manufacturing platform for 2D-material polaritonics, accelerating their implementation in quantum photonic technologies.","PeriodicalId":20048,"journal":{"name":"Photonics Research","volume":"1 1","pages":"4302"},"PeriodicalIF":7.6,"publicationDate":"2026-09-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"149020133","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":1,"RegionCategory":"物理与天体物理","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
