We are interested in predicting future trends of stock markets (Up, Down and Unchanged) in the very short term (10 to 60 minutes ahead). We present a framework to efficiently implement different ANN architectures namely Multi-Layers Perceptron (MLP) and the Long Short- Term Memory (LSTM). This framework involves the use of intraday prices data (tick-by-tick data) and a selection of technical indicators as input variables and fixes the issues related to the imbalanced target classes and the non-regularly spaced input data.We conduct different experimentations within the proposed framework on data from the Moroccan stock market.","PeriodicalId":199959,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 12th International Conference on Intelligent Systems: Theories and Applications","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121926365","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This topic is not only an academic concern, but a crucial aspect for public acceptance of ML in practical contexts as well. Indeed, one should know that the lack of interpretability can be a real drawback for various application areas, such as in healthcare, biology, sociology and industrial decision support systems. In fact, an algorithm, which does not give enough information about the learner process and the learned model would be merely discarded in favor of less accurate and more interpretable approaches. Several papers have been proposed to interpret efficient models, such as Neural Networks and Random Forest, but there is still no consensus about what interpretability refers to. Interestingly, the term has been associated with different notions depending on the point of view of each author, as well as the nature of the issue being treated and the users concerned by the explanation. Therefore, this paper primarily aims to provide a painstaking overview of the aspects related to interpretability of ML learning process and resulting models, as reported by the literature, and to organize the aforementioned aspects into metrics that can be used for ML Interpretability scoring.","PeriodicalId":199959,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 12th International Conference on Intelligent Systems: Theories and Applications","volume":"279 3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114029557","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Moreover, the use of Mamdani models is usually referred to as a good choice in many real problems, since it provides an interpretable and precise functional relationship between the output and input variables. In this paper we present a new leaning Mamdani fuzzy system FRLC-Rgress (Fuzzy Rule Learning through Clustering for Regression Problems). This provides an accurate fuzzy system and simple Mamdani fuzzy rule bases for regression problems. FRLC-Rgress based on linguistic modifiers and fuzzy clustering achieves a low complexity of the learned models while keeping a high accuracy, by following two stages: multi- granularity, fuzzy discretization of the variables, and perceptual learning of the fuzzy rules. FRLC-Rgress is experimented using six real-world datasets. It outperforms two of the most and simple fuzzy systems (genetic fuzzy systems) in state of the art.","PeriodicalId":199959,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 12th International Conference on Intelligent Systems: Theories and Applications","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131573013","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It helps teachers to easily share learning contents with students, and better communicate with them. Many researches demonstrate its effectiveness in improving students' results and satisfaction about the learning process. In this paper we describe our experience using Edmodo for a course in assembly language programming delivered in a blended learning mode. The learning scenario adopted for this course was already presented in our previous work on the pedagogy of integration. Results show that the implementation of our scenario model of the pedagogy of integration using Edmodo enhances both learning and teaching experiences.","PeriodicalId":199959,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 12th International Conference on Intelligent Systems: Theories and Applications","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132513225","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although great effort has been devoted to the proposal, implementation and study of recommendation systems approaches, there is still a lot of room for improvement. This work proposes a novel Graph-based Collaborative Filtering approach for recommendation systems. The key idea is to improve the accuracy of Hybrid approaches by basing recommendations on a more refined Homophily (similarity) level. We hypothesize that a user-base is a network of highly similar sub-communities and that any inference should be made on these communities' level rather than on the whole user-base. Furthermore, some users are more embedded in these similarity communities than others. We think that these \"Key-nodes\" can lead to more accurate recommendations than the ones based on aggregations on similar users. The paper also presents a validation of our approach and the computation of the accuracy of its underlying model over the classical MovieLens dataset. The experiment's results indicate significant gain in performance compared to two classical recommendation systems' approaches.","PeriodicalId":199959,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 12th International Conference on Intelligent Systems: Theories and Applications","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122038675","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In terms of Arabic language, this task is poorly addressed especially with short texts. The current study examines the performance of authorship verifications in the context of short Arabic documents. The Bagging classifier is applied on two different datasets. First, a balanced dataset is examined with different features combinations. In terms of authorship features, two features types are used: stylo-based features (SF) and frequency-based features (FF). And secondly, the same experiment is conducted with an unbalanced dataset.","PeriodicalId":199959,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 12th International Conference on Intelligent Systems: Theories and Applications","volume":"382 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116007165","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A secure end-to-end voice is left untreated. To solve this, 3GPP proposed to use IPsec, but this is still optional for operators. This article brings this end-to-end encryption of voice over LTE, namely VoLTE, without depending on the policies of the operator (IPsec is used or not). After calculation, it was found that, the delay for encrypting and decrypting one VoIP packet must be less than or equal to 30 ms to obtain HD-Voice. This delay reduces the bool of cipher candidates to AES as a block cipher and Chacha as a stream cipher, since both resistance and speed are now mandatory. However, securing data consumes resources, i.e. ciphers consumes both time and energy. Due to the processing requirements and the limited computing power in many smartphones, using strong ciphers may consume more energy and drain the battery faster than using less secure ciphers. It may also significantly increase the delay between data transmissions. Therefore, users and companies need to be aware of the benefits and costs of using various ciphers. Therefore, this paper presents the estimated battery discharge-equation over time for secure VoLLE. These equations will help operators, smartphone manufacturers and users to choose the most convenient cipher to use for VoLTE according to the characteristic of each smartphone.","PeriodicalId":199959,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 12th International Conference on Intelligent Systems: Theories and Applications","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130737382","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
