The goal of this study is to look into the molecular occurrence, haemato-biochemical changes, and risk factors associated with the occurrence of BCoV infection in cattle calves at different dairy farms and small households in the district of Jhelum, Pakistan. From July 2020 to June 2021, 200 faecal samples were collected from newborn cattle calves exhibiting symptoms of diarrhoea and dysentery. S&C Biotech Bovine Coronavirus Antigen Rapid Test Kits were used to screen samples, which were then subjected to RT-PCR for molecular characterization. For the haemato-biochemical analysis, blood was taken from calves infected with BCoV. A questionnaire was used to collect information about the risk factors associated with the occurrence of BCoV infection. BCoV infection was found in 3.5% (7/200) of calves using diagnostic screening kits and 3.0% (6/200) of calves using RT-PCR. Breed, age, sex, vomiting, previous history of diarrhoea, body conditions, food type, colostrum feeding, deworming history, living environment, seasonal variation, and cohabitation with other animals were all assumed risk factors for BCoV infection ( p< 0.05). There was a significant ( p< 0.001) decrease in MCV (fl) and a significant ( p< 0.006) increase in TLC (1x10 3 /cm 3 ) on haematological analysis in BCoV-infected calves. TEC (1x10 6 /cm 3 ), WBC (1x10 6 /cm 3 ), RBC (1x10 6 /cm 3 ), and Hct% were significantly ( p< 0.05) higher. Similarly, infected calves had a non-significant ( p< 0.090) increase in K (mEq/L) and a significant ( p< 0.000) decrease in Na (mEq/L), Ca (mmol/L), Cu (mol/L), and Fe (mol/L) on biochemical analysis. It was concluded that the occurrence of BCoV infection was predisposed by assumed risk factors, and haemato-biochemical alterations were observed in BCoV infected calves.","PeriodicalId":19975,"journal":{"name":"Pakistan Journal of Zoology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67568168","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"生物学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The dol net fishing took place from August, 2019 to July, 2020 in monthly intervals, using dol nets of equipped with mesh size of 280 mm at mouth part and 20 mm at cod end part of the dol net. The dol nets fabricated with nylon multifilament were operated from 6 to 25 m depth for 3–6 h each time deployed in 15 fishing trials. The total length and total weight of the combined sex group was recorded by using the logarithmic transformed data, linear regression analysis was performed to calculate a and b values for two fish species to establish length-weight relationships with respective coefficient of correlation and the 95% confidence intervals. A new maximum total length was recorded for two creek associated mangrove fishes, viz., Escualosa thoracata (10.1 cm) and Bregmaceros mcclellandi (10.5 cm).","PeriodicalId":19975,"journal":{"name":"Pakistan Journal of Zoology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67572823","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"生物学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The trial was carried out in glass aquaria for a period of 8 weeks. Ten (n=10) fingerlings of L. rohita were reared per aquaria having capacity of 80-L water. Feed having 100% fish meal was considered as T1 and diets having 30% and 60% replacement of fish meal by bone meal as main protein source was considered as T2 and T3, respectively. Results showed that replacement of 30% and 60% fish meal with bone meal has better effect on growth of L. rohita analysed whole body composition revealed that lower values of total fat there was observed no significant differences in carbohydrates and moisture content of fish was observed. Bone meal could replace fish meal as an acceptable protein source to promote growth of L. rohita without any negative effects on growth and body composition.","PeriodicalId":19975,"journal":{"name":"Pakistan Journal of Zoology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67474939","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"生物学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Four cannulated buffalo bulls were used for in situ screening of oat fodder harvested at 100 days of age sown using different levels of phosphorous and phosphorous plus nitrogen fertilizers. Dry matter (DM) and crude protein (CP) content were higher (p<0.05) in oat fodder supplemented with P and NP fertilizer as compared to control. The supplementation of P fertilizer resulted in decreased NDF and hemicellulose and did not show any effect on ADF content of oat fodder. At 48 h of incubation, in situ digestibility of DM, CP, NDF, ADF and hemicellulose was greater (p<0.05) with medium levels (N20P20 and N25P25) of P and NP fertilizer as compared to control. The extent of DM, CP, NDF, ADF and hemicellulose digestion and rate of degradation was increased in response to P and NP fertilization. However, the lag time of DM, CP, NDF, ADF and hemicellulose of oat fodder was the inverse because it decreased in repose to medium level of P and NP fertilization as compared to control.","PeriodicalId":19975,"journal":{"name":"Pakistan Journal of Zoology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67539631","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"生物学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The key genes and pathways of CC need to be further discovered. GEO2R was used to identify differentially expressed genes (DEG), GO and KEGG enrichment were analyzed by DAVID. Then, the PPI network is constructed with STRINGS. The HUB gene and module of DEGS were obtained by Cytoscape. Finally, GEPIA also analyzed the differential expression and survival of key genes. 234 DEG were extracted from GSE9750. The uterus is the fourth organ highlighted in the concentrated analysis. The functional changes of DEGS are mainly related to cell cycle progression, cell cycle, helicase activity, DNA helicase activity, exosome and p53 signal pathway. In addition, five HUB genes and one key module were identified. Survival analysis showed that MCM2 and GINS2 were significantly correlated with overall survival. Expression analysis showed that MCM2 and GINS2 were highly expressed in cancer tissues, but low in normal tissues, which was consistent with the results of GEO analysis. Correlation analysis showed that there was a significant positive correlation between MCM2 and GINS2. This study suggests that MCM2 and GINS2 may be new biomarkers to predict the prognosis of CC.","PeriodicalId":19975,"journal":{"name":"Pakistan Journal of Zoology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67548951","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"生物学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
