Thus knowing the existing types of therapies that causes cardiotoxicity adverse effects as well as exploring their underlying mechanisms is of great clinical importance. In this article, we have made a review on the main types of cardiotoxicity-related antineoplastic therapies, which could be divided into traditional chemotherapy, targeted therapy, radiotherapy and immune therapy; and later we discussed on the possible mechanism of each of them. Besides, the monitoring and inspection methods which consists mainly of the echocardiography, MRI as well as some biomarkers, various as the methods, right now there however doesn’t exist any standard or criterion for the early and timely detection of the cardiotoxicity effects for these patients. Furthermore, next we made a summary on the protection or prevention of the heart for patients treated or going to be treated with antineoplastic therapies, mainly based on the chemotherapy. Lastly, we made a discussion on the problems and challenges we are facing and drew a prospect of the future on cardio-oncology.","PeriodicalId":199416,"journal":{"name":"Madridge Journal of Internal and Emergency Medicine","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122853795","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A retrospective analysis of the results of a comprehensive treatment of patients with cirrhosis and portal hypertension syndrome was done. The study is based on a retrospective analysis of the results of a comprehensive treatment of 57 patients who were on treatment at the emergency surgical department of the Republican Hospital No2 − the Center for Emergency Medical Care of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in the period from 2015 to 2017. The presented clinical experience of the use of synthetic somatostatin analogues in complex therapy at acute esophageal variceal bleeding allows recommending their wide use in the practice of urgent surgical clinics.","PeriodicalId":199416,"journal":{"name":"Madridge Journal of Internal and Emergency Medicine","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126680658","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

PPFE has been included in the Update of the International Multidisciplinary Classification of the Idiopathic Interstitial Pneumonias as part of the rare. The etiology of PPFE is unclear but associations with lung and bone marrow transplantation as well as chemotherapy have been proposed. In the present report, we describe a case of 72 years old male presented to our hospital with history of cough with sputum production and right chest pain for the last 3 months. Chest X-ray showed apical mass on the right lung. Surgical lung biopsy revealed PPFE in the upper lobes. To our knowledge, this is the first report in Saudi Arabia, there have been no published reports of diagnosed cases of PPFE. Conclusion: PPFE usually shows a progressive clinical course and carries a poor prognosis. There is no effective treatment for PPFE apart from lung transplantation, other medication can be used as supportive care and includes: corticosteroids, cyclophosphamide, azathioprine, N-acetylcysteine, azithromycin, sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim.","PeriodicalId":199416,"journal":{"name":"Madridge Journal of Internal and Emergency Medicine","volume":"289 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-02-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114342861","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
