Severnaya Dvina, carried out in 2022, with the aim of comprehensive research of aquatic biological resources and their environment. Information was obtained on the species diversity and structure of plankton communities of the studied object belonging to the drainage basin of the Severnaya Dvina River. The taxonomic composition of phytoplankton and zooplankton in the navigation period of 2022 is shown. Species diversity was assessed using the Shannon index, based on the relative abundance of species, the Menhinik, index, which determines species richness, the average abundance and biomass of phytoplankton of the Nikolsky Estuary were determined. The Pantle-Bukka saprobity index was calculated to assess the pollution of natural waters. According to observations, 53 algae taxa with a rank below the genus and 21 zooplankton organisms have been registered. It was found that the basis of algoflora was diatoms. Copepoda copepods formed the basis of the zooplankton community. New data on the state of phytoplankton and zooplankton communities can serve as an informational and methodological basis for the development of environmental monitoring programs for aquatic ecosystems in the region.","PeriodicalId":198921,"journal":{"name":"Transactions of Papanin Institute for Biology of Inland Waters RAS","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123408958","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

All species are divided by the macroregions of Russia. Was eight types of species range is recognised, taking into account longitudinal and latitudinal characteristics. The fauna of Russia is allochthonous with the absence of endemism. The main “donor” of the Russian fauna is the Tethys desert-steppe region. The species richness of zonal faunas increases from north to south. From west to east (after the Ural), a significant decrease in the species richness of Heteroceridae is observed in Western Siberia, and its re-increase in Eastern Siberia and the Far East with the inclusion of East Tethysian and East Asian elements.","PeriodicalId":198921,"journal":{"name":"Transactions of Papanin Institute for Biology of Inland Waters RAS","volume":"226 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115746106","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Materials from Lake Pizanets (Republic of Karelia) and S.I. Genkal’s iconotheca of scanning electron microscopy images of valves collected from Karelian water bodies and watercourses were used. A comparative analysis of quantitative (valve length and width, number of striae and areolae in 10 µm) and qualitative (shape of valve, central and axial areas, arrangement of raphe and striae) features showed the similarity of this species with N. vitiosa, which made it possible to reduce N. silvahercynia to synonymy of the latter. We discuss the rate of isoetid features convergency in representatives of different taxons with a predominant emphasize on Lobelia Dortmanna, but especially on a less studied (less explored) annual isoetid Subularia aquatica at the different stages of its ontogenesis. A resemblance of Lobelia and Subularia seedlings with their collet (collar) rhizoides presence is shown. Extremely wide aerenchyma development in all vegetative organs, including roots is presented in two forms: radial lysigeny and comb honey form.","PeriodicalId":198921,"journal":{"name":"Transactions of Papanin Institute for Biology of Inland Waters RAS","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121103373","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The amount of fish caught lags behind the needs of the population. 2012–2021 we made an investigation of diversity of fish in catches in 14 small rivers of the Balkhash basin. The variety of fish caught was studied in connection with the remoteness of the rivers from large cities, the degree of protection, the maximum water temperature in summer, the content of ammonium ions and nitrates. The diversity of native fish in catches increases with distance from cities and the presence of protected sections of rivers.The main fish species caught were native naked osman Gymnodiptychus dybowskii, scaly osman Diptychus maculatus, Balkhash marinka Schizothorax argentatus and alien rainbow trout Oncorchynchus mykiss. Native Balkhash perch Perca schrenkii and spotted thicklip loachTriplophysa strauchii can also be caught by recreational fishermen. As a result of the negative anthropogenic impact, the Balkhash perch disappeared from most of the studied rivers, and the range of the Balkhash marinka was significantly reduced.For the sustainable existence of populations of fish caught by amateur fishermen, it is necessary to have sections of rivers protected from human impact. To organize effective management of fish resources in small rivers, further study of the regularities of their functioning is necessary.","PeriodicalId":198921,"journal":{"name":"Transactions of Papanin Institute for Biology of Inland Waters RAS","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129342610","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
