Results are shown for a two-bladed rotor configuration for various pitch angles and angular velocities. A brief description of the designed test stand and PIV system is provided. The experimental setup allows for the measurement of thrust, torque and velocity field around the helicopter rotor with diameters of up to 1 meter, for pitch angles varying from −12° to +24° and for angular velocities of up to 3 000 RPM. The internal friction losses of the test stand are estimated and taken into account in measurements. Conclusions are drawn about the aerodynamic performance of the studied rotor configuration.","PeriodicalId":198861,"journal":{"name":"2020 New Trends in Civil Aviation (NTCA)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125375408","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Among all the visual illusions that can jeopardize the course of a flight in its particular phases, this illusion is quite specific. This illusion arises in cases of visual approach at night. The risks of this illusion, such as hitting the terrain, are known. However, the causes of this illusion and other influencing factors that may result in this illusion are not sufficiently investigated. Therefore, a systematic review was performed in order to summarize the existing knowledge on this issue. The results show that in the case of black hole approach, only basic research is carried out worldwide and there is a lack of studies. However, the studies carried out partially confirm the well-known hypotheses about the origin of this illusion.","PeriodicalId":198861,"journal":{"name":"2020 New Trends in Civil Aviation (NTCA)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129100033","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In modern aviation technology, the Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) is used to deter mid-air collisions between aircraft. With an increase in the air traffic, it is imperative for the safety of passengers that TCAS properly functions. This paper aims to present the first TCAS threat actor model, adapted from a cyber threat model. The determined threat actors include: Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs), Insider Threats, Criminal Organizations, and Hobbyists. Additionally, the paper presents the first taxonomy of communication threats against TCAS. Using an Automatic dependent surveillance–broadcast (ADS-B) threat model, the TCAS threats are categorized into passive, eavesdropping and active attacks, ghosting, denial-of-service, and spoofing. Furthermore, the paper presents the requirements necessary to successfully implement a spoofing attack. After the taxonomy of threats are presented, future work is discussed regarding the current TCAS implementation and future versions.","PeriodicalId":198861,"journal":{"name":"2020 New Trends in Civil Aviation (NTCA)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126019823","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, there is rather little attention paid to the issue. Therefore, this article focuses on the evaluation of stress factors that may have a negative impact on the work of the airport dispatcher. For the purpose, a questionnaire was created, the aim of which was to identify potential risk factors for stress situations when performing the tasks of an airport dispatcher. All dispatchers at Bratislava Airport took part in the questionnaire survey. The results showed a negative impact of such factors as working conditions, salary rate and contact with supervisors on the work performance of the airport dispatcher.","PeriodicalId":198861,"journal":{"name":"2020 New Trends in Civil Aviation (NTCA)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114204773","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It primarily evaluates the appropriateness of the operational data sources to serve as a valid input for the more automatized and real-time data collection and evaluation. This evaluation is primarily focused on possible utilization of such data sources within safety control structure, the core of the safety model STAMP. This represents one of the possible approaches that could be set as a main safety mechanism, bringing a potential for setting of the active control within the given system. Application of active control requires a system preparedness study. In order to set an active control, detailed understanding of the available data sources and their appropriateness for the safety evaluation process, are required. Such data are gathered from the various sources and their structure is not consistent, which could potentially lead to a misinterpretation and invalid safety analysis results. Therefore, the main goal of the paper is to bring a closer look to a several aspects of technical and operational preparedness of the aviation organizations to use real-time data within SMS. The research uses relevant sources of daily operational data.","PeriodicalId":198861,"journal":{"name":"2020 New Trends in Civil Aviation (NTCA)","volume":"74 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132915277","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The article presents the findings obtained during a real-time measurement in which the GNSS receiver within the multi-mode receiver (MMR) on the B737 MAX was interfered. In addition to identifying the power level sufficient to disable the GNSS receiver on this aircraft, the article further describes the behavior of the ADS-B system under jamming conditions. The experiment was performed on the ground, i.e., both the aircraft and the jammer were stationary during all phases of measurement.","PeriodicalId":198861,"journal":{"name":"2020 New Trends in Civil Aviation (NTCA)","volume":"784 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116130574","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
