{"title":"New Taxa of Damselflies (Protozygoptera) from the Permian of the East European Platform","authors":"A. S. It is based on mass material from the Isady, Chekarda and Soyana localities. The new system is based on a set of wing venation characters. The hypothesis on the division of Protozygoptera based on their body structures is supplemented and confirmed (Nel et al., 2012). A three-segmented tarsal structure has been established for the archizygopteran family Kennedyidae. The infraorder Permagrionomorpha infraordo nov. is established. An additional character has been proposed to separate archizygopterans and permagrionomorphs based on the structure and morphology of the thorax. Lodeviidae is synonymized with Permagrionidae (junior synonym). Two new families, four new genera and 14 new species are described. A new family Progoneuridae fam. nov. is described based on a significant reduction in the wing longitudinal and transverse venation. It includes the genera Progoneura Carpenter, 1931; Azaroneura Nel et al., 2012; Progophlebia Felker, 2021, and Issadoneura gen. nov. (with a new species Issadoneura marilevorum gen. et sp. nov.). Based on re-examination of the type material from Chekarda, the genus Engellestes Nel et al., 2012 is assigned to a new family Engellestidae fam. nov. The following voltzialestids are described from the Upper Permian of the Vologda Region: Prototerskeja dubia gen. et sp. nov., Permosticta elegans gen. et. sp. nov., and Permosticta parva gen. et sp. nov. The diagnosis of the family Voltzialestidae is changed because of the inclusion of new genera. The genus Sushkinia Martynov, 1930 is transferred to Permagrionidae. The following permagrionids are described: Permagrion sharovi sp. nov, Permolestes obscurus sp. nov., P. vjatkensis sp. nov., Salagoulestes martynovi sp. nov., Solikamptilon aequus sp. nov., Sushkinia angulata sp. nov., Triadolestes sakmarensis gen. et sp. nov., and T. mutovkensis gen. et sp. nov. The new material from Isady and Kargala suggests closer relationships of the Permian Permagrionomorpha and Triassic Triadophlebiomorpha. In the family Kennedyidae, Kennedya sylvensis sp. nov. and K. volatica sp. nov. are described from Chekarda, and K. ivensis Nel et al., 2012 is redescribed from Soyana.
","PeriodicalId":19816,"journal":{"name":"Paleontological Journal","volume":"27 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2024-02-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139767309","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"地球科学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The distribution of 23 radiolarian species in the studied sections was analyzed, enabling the recognition of two new radiolarian ecozones: Astroentactinia mirifica of the Saraninian Regional Substage in the Neostreptognathodus pnevi conodont Zone and Alexialeks uralicus–Octatormentum permicum of the Irenian Regional Substage, corresponding to the Neostreptognathodus imperfectus conodont Zone. The ecozones are based on the quantitative ratio of high-ranking taxa (classes). The use of the method of correlation of taxa of higher rank at the class level as an indicator of changes in paleoenvironments shows the inversion of the taxonomic composition of radiolarian associations of new ecozones of the Saraninian and Irenian regional substages indicating a change in the radiolarian habitats due to the shallowing of the basin. The taxonomic compositions of the radiolarian associations of the basinal and shelf environment are shown to be different. Three new radiolarian species from the Kungurian Stage of the South Urals are described: Astroentactinia mirifica Afanasieva, sp. nov., Helioentactinia parvispina Afanasieva, sp. nov., and H. venusta Afanasieva, sp. nov.
","PeriodicalId":19816,"journal":{"name":"Paleontological Journal","volume":"87 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2023-11-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138538724","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"地球科学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Shoreface deposits have been found in exposures along the Pyoza and Vaskha rivers; however, deposits of undoubtedly tidal origin have not hitherto been recognized there. By contrast, here we show that shells of Macoma balthica (Linnaeus, 1758) (Tellinidae, Bivalvia) unearthed from the shoreface deposits show growth patterns indicating that the bivalves lived in an environment affected by tidal periodicity. The periodicity was a mixed tide with significantly diurnal inequality in the height of the low waters. In the Arkhangelsk Region, the Mikulinian hydrodynamical conditions of the tidally influenced regime are still poorly known. Because the spatial and temporal distribution of M. balthica is broad in the fossil record, its shells have a large potential for tidal interpretations, as contribution to hydrological reconstructions.
","PeriodicalId":19816,"journal":{"name":"Paleontological Journal","volume":"41 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2023-11-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138538737","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"地球科学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
