Because they use technology that operates according to a system that lacks the flexibility of real-time, traditional fixed traffic light controllers have restrictions and are less efficient. The set time intervals between green and red as a result of the fixed time intervals between green and red. There is excessive and unnecessary traffic congestion, and automobiles consume more gasoline. This eventually causes environmental issues as well as a variety of health issues for people. The rise in the number of personal automobiles has a negative impact on the environment. The goal of this project is to develop a traffic system that adapts to current traffic conditions in a lane. In most cases, the average waiting time for all lanes is set. This idea proposes that the number of vehicles in a lane be monitored to reduce the average waiting time. A predictive model will also be implemented, which will make decisions based on prior traffic patterns, mostly at habitually congested crossings. Emergency vehicles will also be identified, and a faster route will be established for them.","PeriodicalId":197307,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE Industrial Electronics and Applications Conference (IEACon)","volume":"151 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134451202","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research seeks to design a new safe-commutation algorithm for four-quadrant operation in order to prevent voltage and current spikes induced by inductive loads. Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) was utilised to compute the switch duty ratio in order to generate the output. The proposed safe-commutation technique generates energy dissipation channels, allowing for the complete dissipation of inductive energy. With the proposed safe-commutation technique, it can solve the commutation problem of the four-quadrant operation of a controlled rectifier using SPMC, thus, capable to protect the power device from the over-voltage and over-current. A MATLAB/Simulink (MLS) computer simulation model was constructed, and selected results are presented to analyse and validate the proposed technique.","PeriodicalId":197307,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE Industrial Electronics and Applications Conference (IEACon)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129063951","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The other loads are the auxiliary electrical power supplies of the solar thermal unit which is operational at the site and used for the mid-day meal application. In the DC microgrid, solar photovoltaic (PV) is considered as the main power generator whereas battery energy storage medium is considered as the backup power source. PV power can be utilized, first to meet the required load demand and the excess power is used to charge the battery bank. In case, PV power is in deficit then the battery bank is discharged to meet the load demand uninterruptedly. In this study; firstly, a techno-economic analysis of off-grid DC microgrid with lead-acid battery energy storage has been performed using a hybrid optimization model for electric renewables (HOMER) simulation tool. Secondly, the proposed DC microgrid has also been implemented at a reduced scale at the selected site location. It is found that such type of DC microgrid is self-sufficient and efficient to meet the load demand uninterruptedly.","PeriodicalId":197307,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE Industrial Electronics and Applications Conference (IEACon)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125470761","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
