The test scores for acid-base material showed that 87% of the 68 students were below the KKM. Learning using LKPD based on local wisdom can make it easier for students to understand the material and improve learning outcomes. The STEAM approach can train students to apply their knowledge in making designs as a form of solving environmental problems by utilizing technology. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of LKPD. The type of research used is field research with the design used is the pretest posttest control group design. The sources in this study came from ten students of class XI IPA MAN Insan Cendekia Paser who were selected by simple random sampling. Data collection techniques, namely interviews, documentation, questionnaires and test questions, were then analyzed using the N-Gain test. The results of the study show the effectiveness of local wisdom-based LKPD with the STEAM approach in terms of learning outcomes showing an N-Gain value of 0.3 with the criteria of \"moderate\" meaning that students experience an increase in understanding. Judging from the average aspect of the affective assessment of students \"very good\" and psychomotor assessment of students \"good\". The results of research on a small scale prove that the developed LKPD is suitable for use in chemistry learning on acid-base material and can be effective in increasing students' understanding.

The aim of the study was to determine the perceptions of prospective chemistry teachers towards ethnoscience in contextual-based learning. The method used in this research is qualitative. Sources of data were taken from 39 first and second level chemistry teacher candidates and then specified into seven tribes in seven districts/cities in South Sumatra. The research instruments are surveys, interviews, and observations. Data were analyzed based on an interactive analysis model. The data analysis technique is to reduce the data and then draw conclusions. This study shows a positive perception of prospective chemistry teachers towards ethnoscience, that is, they are able to understand and elaborate on the ethnoscience approach in basic science lectures. The main problem faced by prospective chemistry teachers in the ethnoscience approach is that they are not used to connecting science content based on the chemical context with local culture. Ethnoscience approach can be implemented with Contextual Learning. This learning provides an opportunity for prospective chemistry teachers to further explore the culture of the surrounding community in a more real way. Contextual Learning helps and bridges the process of discovering concepts and contexts that exist in learning.","PeriodicalId":19680,"journal":{"name":"Orbital: The Electronic Journal of Chemistry","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135354394","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One effort to overcome this is to design learning through didactic design. This study aims to develop a didactic design in reducing learning obstacles in the concept of redox reactions. The method used in this research is a qualitative research method. The research design used is Didactical Design Research (DDR). Data collection techniques used are tests, observations, interviews and documentation. Respondents in this study were 30 students of the UPI Pilot Laboratory High School in class XI IPA 2 and 28 students in class X. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the didactic design developed in the form of Chapter Design and Lesson Design included providing an understanding of concepts through the provision of phenomena followed by experiments or demonstrations in general, which ran smoothly. The existence of Chapter Design and Lesson Design components aims to make students obtain the material. The other goal is to make it easier for teachers to achieve better educational goals by bringing out predictions of student responses and prepared teacher anticipation. This didactical design can reduce learning barriers and can improve students' abilities. It can be concluded that the didactic design of the concept of oxidation-reduction reactions is effective as an alternative teaching material used in the learning process.
