In order to meet the needs of students' development, teachers need to adjust teaching methods. Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) plays an important role in language teaching. The purpose of this study is to provide a historical overview of Communicative Language Teaching and demonstrate the basic theories and characteristics of communicative language teaching. Then, the benefits and flaws of Communicative Language Teaching would be pointed out. The main merit of Communicative Language Teaching is improving students’ fluency in speaking, while it might ignore the accuracy of the target language. In the end, some reflections would be presented.","PeriodicalId":196354,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2022 3rd International Conference on Language, Art and Cultural Exchange(ICLACE 2022)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126258691","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nationalism has caused a great change in both Japan's economic and political aspects, as time passes by, nationalism has developed because of the assault which came from the thought trend of the western country. It has both the specific characteristic which cannot be replaced by western countries and a negative colour that has strongly affected the Japanese citizens.","PeriodicalId":196354,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2022 3rd International Conference on Language, Art and Cultural Exchange(ICLACE 2022)","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125820025","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research aims to investigate the effects of mood conditions and valence of words on L2 vocabulary memory retrieval. Twenty undergraduates participated in the experiment and completed memory retrieval tasks after mood manipulation. To investigate whether mood conditions exerted influences on L2 vocabulary memory retrieval, 2 (mood: happy, sad) x 3 (valence of words: positive, neutral, negative) repeated measures were conducted. The results indicated that neither the interaction between mood conditions and accuracy rates nor mood conditions and valence propensity of L2 vocabulary memory retrieval were significant. An unanticipated finding was the significant interaction between retrieval accuracy rate and reaction time. On average, participants’ true responses accompany less reaction time and vice versa. This study provided evidence for the cognitive differences between L1 and L2 vocabulary memory retrieval.","PeriodicalId":196354,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2022 3rd International Conference on Language, Art and Cultural Exchange(ICLACE 2022)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129445860","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Her poems contain an abundance of imagery related to death. In general, many analyses of death imagery have focused more on Plath's autobiographical trauma. In contrast, this essay applies Hélène Cixous's theory of women's writing to explain how the death imagery in “Daddy” and “Tulips” is a medium of opposition to patriarchy rather than an autobiographical presentation of personal trauma and vulnerability. Using an applied-theoretical approach, this essay applies the concept of feminine writing proposed by Hélène Cixous to explain how Sylvia Plath opposes patriarchy by writing about her feminine self in “Tulips” and “Daddy”. Plath ultimately achieves her protest against patriarchy by examining her weaknesses and building a new identity, which is parallel to two dimensions of Cixous’s feminine writing. This essay examines how the imagery of death in Plath's Tulips and Daddy subverts rather than succumbs to the markers of male oppression and therefore contributes to an understanding of how Plath, as a celebrated poet of concessions, expresses her rebirth of female identity rather than merely showing autobiographical vulnerability.","PeriodicalId":196354,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2022 3rd International Conference on Language, Art and Cultural Exchange(ICLACE 2022)","volume":"143 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124560348","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

World art has also undergone a lot of changes. The modern art center has gradually shifted from Europe to the United States, and people's views and thinking about art have also undergone tremendous changes. In the 1960s and 1970s, feminist art officially emerged. This article will start with Klimt, a Secessionist painter, to Frida Kahlo, and then discuss the performance of today's feminist artists, so as to analyze the changes in feminist art since the twentieth century. It can be concluded that with the progress and development of society, artists began to try different modes of artistic expression that were different from traditional concepts. The improvement of women's status and the change of people's ideas began to allow women to become artists and create works of art. As a result, women have a position and a right to speak in the field of art, and can export their own personal consciousness and ideas. Since then, the field of art can also become a tool for feminism to promote equality in the world.","PeriodicalId":196354,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2022 3rd International Conference on Language, Art and Cultural Exchange(ICLACE 2022)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125694543","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
