The model is implemented using MATLAB/SIMULINK software. A number of electrical faults which are common in inverter fed drives are created. The faults considered are open circuit faults in one phase and two phases. As these motor drives are intended for disturbance free operation, the analysis of these is an important aspect to investigate under different faults. Simulation results for each fault have been provided and their detailed analysis has been carried out. Generally, a nonlinear process possessing static nonlinearity experiences an asymmetrical limit cycle output. During the relay feedback test, the relay height is adjusted such that the output becomes symmetrical. The static nonlinearity is identified from a single test and then its inverse function is used to nullify static nonlinearity in the process. Thereafter, a linear process model is identified and subsequently a linear PID controller is designed. Finally, the PID controller along with the inverse nonlinear function yields a simple nonlinear PID controller that is capable of controlling the nonlinear process effectively. For interpolating the lost frames using the received frames various techniques were proposed, but these techniques are good only for slow motion video. For fast motion video, these interpolating techniques create artifacts in the interpolated frames. We propose a new technique for interpolating lost frames using object based motion estimation and compensation. The proposed method is based on the estimation of displacements of the minimum bounding box (MBB) sides of an object. From the received frames we first detect the type of motion (translation, rotation, part rotation) that the object has undergone. Satellites are assumed to be moving with same linear velocity and having body fixed parallel axes of rotation. Each satellite is equipped with single communication antenna. We have achieved conditions on initial state of satellites that predict possibility of future communication or no communication between satellites. Also, it is shown that under certain conditions, if communication between satellites occurs once then communication between satellites occurs again and again. Manivannan","doi":"10.1109/INDCON.2008.4768745","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/INDCON.2008.4768745","url":null,"abstract":"The focus of the paper is to analyze the downlink performance of a wideband code division multiple access (WCDMA) system with site selection diversity transmission (SSDT) power control during soft handover (SHO) mode and to find the optimum SHO margin (MSH) in terms of maximum system capacity under energy-per-bit to noisespectral density ratio (Eb/No) quality requirements. Analyzing the dependency of the connection probabilities, percentage of users connected to one, two, or three Base Stations (BSs) simultaneously as a function of the MSH. Analyzed the system capacity and required resources dependency on MSH for voice service and combined multimedia mobile services. System capacity dependency on MSH is analyzed, by considering two types of user distributions, namely 1) uniform user distribution and 2) a concentration of all the users in the location that requires maximum transmitted power (the worst case). The result of this analysis shows an increase in user capacity of about 16% - 20% for the optimum MSH of 5-5.5dB. Conducting particles in transmission and switching equipment insulated by compressed sulphur hexafluoride (SF6) can result in loss of as much as 90% of the gas dielectric strength. These particles may be free to move in the electric field or may be fixed on the conductors, thus enhancing local surface fields. In a horizontal coaxial system with particles resting on the inside surface of the enclosure, the motion of such particles is random but the randomness depends on the coefficient of restitution and angle of incidence when approaching the coaxial conductors. The power industry has utilized several methods to control and minimize the effect of particle contamination in GIS. One such technique is to apply a dielectric (high resistivity) coating to the inside surface of the outer GIS enclosure. The electric field necessary to lift a particle resting on the inside surface of a GIS enclosure is much increased due to the coating. The simulation of the particle movement was carried under different AC voltage levels for coated and uncoated cases. Recent research has indicated that PMSM could become a serious competitor to the induction motor (IM) for high performance servo applications. Mathematical model of a PMSM is developed with the help of Park and Clarke transformations. The concept of vector control is applied to PMSM to obtain linear dynamics similar to that of a DC motor. The linearized model consists of two control loops namely, current loop and speed loop. The objective of the control scheme is to achieve very fast response. The performance of PMSM drive system under different speed reference input is evaluated on the basis of simulation and experimental results. It is found that the antenna operates with dual frequency band characteristics with resonances at 4.76 GHz and 6.79 GHz. The dual nature of the antenna is realized by adding coplanar U-shaped parasitic elements around the radiating edges of the fed patch and stacking a rectangular patch above them. The lower and upper frequency bands are achieved as 443 MHz and 287 MHz respectively.
