Flow patterns are given at different ratios of the incoming and intake air flow velocities. The dependences of the characteristic sizes of vortex zones arising at the inlet to the suction-sockets on the velocity of the incoming flow, the length and angle of inclination of the socket are determined. Expressions are obtained for the critical velocity of the incoming flow, at which the flow separation mode for the first vortex zone changes from separation inside the bell to separation outside it. The obtained results can be useful for the construction of local suction systems, profiled according to the found outlines of vortex zones.","PeriodicalId":19463,"journal":{"name":"NOVYE OGNEUPORY (NEW REFRACTORIES)","volume":"33 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139202311","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main type of products used for steel-teeming ladle lining is periclase-carbon. In order to improve corrosion resistance and resistance to thermomechanical loads, additional additives, such as spinel, and high alumina CMA cement, are introduced into the periclase-carbon products. In this paper, the effect of calcium aluminate-based additive on the properties of periclasecarbon refractories is investigated. It is assumed that there is a potential for the formation of magnesium aluminate spinel (MA) in periclase-carbon products with calcium-aluminate additives during heat treatment. Fused periclase was used as the raw material, the carbon component was represented by natural flake graphite in an amount of 10 wt% and a combined binder. An additive based on calcium aluminates was introduced, with a fractional size from 0 to 3 mm, while the amount of main fractions of fused periclase was reduced by the corresponding amount of the additive introduced. The compressive strength, apparent porosity, and bending strength values before and after coking firing were analyzed. The thermal coefficient of linear expansion, phase composition and microstructure of the products were also investigated.","PeriodicalId":19463,"journal":{"name":"NOVYE OGNEUPORY (NEW REFRACTORIES)","volume":"344 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139204579","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Such activity leads to a significant gain in strength, hardness and the production of high-strength concrete. It is shown that such an effect can be achieved by surface impregnation of concrete with sols (colloidal solutions) based on SiO2 nanoparticles. It is advisable to start impregnation from the third day of hardening under normal conditions. At this age, the main heat of the cement's own exothermic hardening reaction has already been released into the environment, and the introduction of additional energy will not cause a shift in equilibrium towards slowing down the hardening processes in accordance with the Le-Chatelier principle. The results of physico-chemical studies of concrete after hardening, explaining this effect, are presented.","PeriodicalId":19463,"journal":{"name":"NOVYE OGNEUPORY (NEW REFRACTORIES)","volume":"36 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139205118","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The interest in the development or modification of binders for the manufacture of thermal insulation used in the transport, construction, and industrial sectors is due to increased requirements for their operational characteristics, as well as fire and environmental safety requirements. Trends in the development of binders for fibrous thermal insulation materials that meet modern requirements are indicated: thermal protection systems must have sufficient strength and flexibility to maintain their integrity during manufacture, transportation and installation in target volumes, sufficient elasticity to restore volume after compression, low specific gravity, low coefficient of thermal conductivity, resistance to flame, low smoke emission and resistance to moisture gain during heating and cooling.","PeriodicalId":19463,"journal":{"name":"NOVYE OGNEUPORY (NEW REFRACTORIES)","volume":"15 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139208857","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On the basis of experimental data, dependences of weight gain on temperature and annealing time were plotted. On the basis of X-ray phase analysis and the results of scanning electron microscopy, it was found that the carbide phases do not change stoichiometry, a new CrNi3 phase is detected, and oxide films (TiO2 and Cr2O) are formed on the surface of the body.
