Privacy by design has been established in order to highlight the path to be followed during a system's design phase ensuring the appropriate level of privacy for the information it handles. Nonetheless, transitioning between privacy concerns identified early during the system's design phase, and privacy implementing technologies to satisfy such concerns at the later development stages, remains a challenge. In order to overcome this issue, mainly caused by the lack of privacy-related expertise of software systems engineers, this work proposes a series of privacy process patterns. The proposed patterns encapsulate expert knowledge and provide predefined solutions for the satisfaction of different types of privacy concerns. The patterns presented in this work are used as a component of an existing privacy-aware system design methodology, through which they are applied to a real life system.","PeriodicalId":193156,"journal":{"name":"2017 11th International Conference on Research Challenges in Information Science (RCIS)","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-05-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128720543","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, potential users of online services are still reluctant to outsource sensitive data to these services, mainly due to lack of control over management and privacy issues of their data. This becomes more complex when dealing with Public Administrations (PAs) which handle data of citizens, where the latter are obliged, in many cases by law, to do so. This paper presents the VisiOn Privacy Platform, which analyses privacy preferences, and introduces the concept of the Privacy Level Agreement, capturing the PAs and citizens privacy requirements, thus supporting transparency and accountability for PAs.","PeriodicalId":193156,"journal":{"name":"2017 11th International Conference on Research Challenges in Information Science (RCIS)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-05-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130039147","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

External knowledge can be integrated into the project through different practices. Thereby, to help companies to identify their best practices, it is necessary to find out where and how external knowledge is acquired, transformed and applied in order to better understand the organisational mechanisms by which firms acquire, assimilate, transform and exploit knowledge. To this end, we propose a new participative method called ISEACAP (Identification, Simulation, Evaluation of Absorptive CAPacity) in order to elicit exchanged knowledge during each part of an innovative project and map the knowledge journey from its integration to its application. The outcome of the method will first help the participants (actors of the innovative project) to better understand and improve their practices for integrating external knowledge. Further, it will help us to reach the way organisational routines will be implemented.","PeriodicalId":193156,"journal":{"name":"2017 11th International Conference on Research Challenges in Information Science (RCIS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-05-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128976182","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There appear to be many examples of SoSs, but the term has become a source of confusion. While many approaches have been proposed for engineering SoSs, there are few illustrative examples demonstrating their initial classification and resulting SoS structure. This paper presents an approach for framing a candidate SoS using the Afghan Mission Network defined as an Acknowledged SoS, and presents issues associated with SoSs stakeholders, human factors and interoperability considerations resulting from such an approach.","PeriodicalId":193156,"journal":{"name":"2017 11th International Conference on Research Challenges in Information Science (RCIS)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-05-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133134471","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The dynamicity of the business environment requires from organisations to evolve their processes for maintaining their competitive advantage, but this can be time and cost consuming and cause great internal resistance. CEFOP method aims to limit these obstacles by introducing a continual evolution of the process managed in an autonomous way by the actors of the organisation. This approach is particularly crucial for SMEs, which have no internal skills to lead the necessary process evolutions. The CEFOP method adopts the AS-IS/AS-IF approach which allows going out of the project notion by proposing strategies to analyse, diagnose and improve the organisational processes in a continual way. This article focuses on the analysis strategy illustrated with a case study on a ticket support providing process. The case study is provided by Net Invaders, a juvenile French Startup, which is collaborating with us on this project.","PeriodicalId":193156,"journal":{"name":"2017 11th International Conference on Research Challenges in Information Science (RCIS)","volume":"166 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-05-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122838350","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recent advances in genomic testing are revealing new diagnosis targets whose storage and analysis is becoming a big challenge. The use of Conceptual Models (CM) defining and structuring Neuroblastoma domain serves as a basis to determine the information required for diagnosing the disease. A Genomic Information System (GeIS) built upon a CM, greatly facilitate the integration and management of the heterogeneous and dispersed genomic data. The correct exploitation of the validated dataset leads to an efficient and early risk assessment for patients with Neuroblastoma.","PeriodicalId":193156,"journal":{"name":"2017 11th International Conference on Research Challenges in Information Science (RCIS)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-05-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131647173","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We propose a systematic, tool-supported process for establishing compliance of a software system with a given law. The process elicits new requirements from the law, compares them with existing ones and manages conflicts, exploiting a set of heuristics, partially supported by a tool. We illustrate our proposal through an exploratory study using the Italian Privacy Law. We also present results of a preliminary empirical study that indicates that adoption of the process improves compliance analysis for a simple compliance scenario.","PeriodicalId":193156,"journal":{"name":"2017 11th International Conference on Research Challenges in Information Science (RCIS)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-05-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132560500","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This great responsibility is placed on editorial boards of journals, on program committees of conferences and their members. In addition, with a large number of scientific conferences held each year, searching for experts that would be invited to join the program committees is an increasingly hard task. In this paper, we propose an expert modelling method on different indicators of expertise, in particular on citation networks in order to build suggestions of members for program committees of conferences. Contrary to most of the works about expert search in the literature which are based on textual sources of evidence to define the expertise of an expert candidate, our model leverages non-textual indicators only. We evaluate the proximity of an expert candidate according to the weights of his/her various relations with the conference for which the candidate is proposed to be member of the next program committee. We report various experiments in the context of the SIGIR conference editions. These experiments give hints on the composition of program committees and on the effectiveness of our approach.","PeriodicalId":193156,"journal":{"name":"2017 11th International Conference on Research Challenges in Information Science (RCIS)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-05-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127261830","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The decision whether it is best to go ‘into the cloud’ or to ‘stay inside’ is quite complicated when it comes to privacy issues, considering that the organization itself stays responsible for the data when it is stored in the cloud. This research provides organizations with a guideline on how to handle privacy considerations of cloud solutions based on literature and empirical research. In addition, a privacy control framework is developed to provide prerequisites regarding privacy in the cloud which can be used to confirm if an organization is ‘cloud ready’ or not.","PeriodicalId":193156,"journal":{"name":"2017 11th International Conference on Research Challenges in Information Science (RCIS)","volume":"159 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115161637","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
