To achieve this goal, the analysis of scientific literature was carried out, which allowed to identify the possibilities, advantages and benefits of this method. The purpose of its application is also mentioned, as well as the examples of the cases classification. The article provides examples of training situations that can be the basis for the development of the cases. The examples of the cases given in the article are clearly structured, which allows us to see the possibility of using this method to control the competencies formation in such components of the teacher's work as the preparation and verification of tasks. Approaches to students’ evaluation of the cases solutions are proposed. The authors noted a positive trend in the desire of students to acquire knowledge and master the profession. The authors give specific examples of the research method capabilities in conducting laboratory work. Purpose: To indicate the need for the introduction of new methods and means of teaching students a foreign language in the field of jurisprudence (terms, ideas, documents), who have low quality of speech training. Procedure and research methods: The authors performed an analysis of empirical material (testing students at the initial stage of studying), as well as the analysis of the tests results. They provided necessary selection of foreign language material, specialized topics (legal orientation). Results: The selection of topics, preparation of materials in English (presentation) is empirically veri-fied, which resulted in successful presentations at student round tables and conferences (including in other universities). Theoretical/ practical significance: It consists in summarizing a significant array of testing data, in the selection of specific grammatical and lexical material aimed at developing and consolidating existing speaking and writing skills.
