It reduces the vision area and leads to blindness. Early detection is critical to prevent permanent vision loss. The automated analysis of medical images contributes to the increase in the performance of classifying retinal images to pathological and nonpathological. This paper presents an automated glaucoma diagnosis approach by analyzing the texture of fundus images. The analysis was performed using Local Binary Pattern descriptor to represent grayscale and channels of retinal images and applied Gray Level Run-Length Matrix to describe patterns of texture. The classification was performed using two classifiers. The proposed approach provided the best classification results with 98%, 91%, and 97% of the three versions of RIM-ONE databases using Support Vector Machine classifier. Findings showed that local binary pattern representations and concatenated gray level run length matrix features achieved high results. Consequently, proving this approach is reliable and promising.","PeriodicalId":191284,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Engineering & MIS (ICEMIS)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115706189","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An organic light-emitting diode (OLED) has many attractive features that outperform a conventional semiconductor light-emitting diode (LED) for visible light contact (VLC). Nowadays, optical display devices using (OLED) are already available and OLED lighting devices have also been popular in the market due to their advantages in luminous intensity and low cost. In this paper, we suggest using carrierless and phase modulation technology (CAP) to enhance and increase the spectral efficiency of the OLED in VLC communications. To ensure the best BER, the transmitter and receiver must be line-of-sight (LoS). Matlab Simulink program was used to simulate the optical communication system, where the transmitter and receiver were designed, as well as the optical channel. Both conventional and organic photodiodes were simulated and compared in the system. The results showed an improvement in the performance of the OLED and it overcame its problems due to its narrow bandwidth of 245MHz compared to the (LED) whose bandwidth is about 1.5 GHz.","PeriodicalId":191284,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Engineering & MIS (ICEMIS)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116927989","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The temperature of the Solar PV module has a significant impact on its electrical output. Due to the size and diversity of the topography of Libya, meteorological conditions including temperature, wind, rain, and humidity vary greatly from region to region. As a result, this variation must be taken into account when evaluating the viability of PV solar module and inverter, taking into account the selection of the right PV technology in terms of the electrical characteristics, and avoiding extrapolating the findings of one location to the entire nation. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the performance of various PV technologies to determine whether they are suitable for use in Libya under various weather conditions. The research utilized the data provided by Solargis Database Company in analyzing the performance of PV solar field since weather data is not available. Key economic parameters of three different types of PV solar modules were simulated subject to real weather conditions of the considered sites using System Advisor Model software (SAM) simulation tool developed by the NREL-USA. The research determined the most suitable types of PV solar module and inverter for each zone across the Libyan territory with high accuracy. The obtained results can be implemented in the preliminary design stages, especially in the selection of the type of PV solar modules to be installed in a particular location, where a difference in the LCOE values up to 45% was remarked between several types of PV solar modules for the same location.","PeriodicalId":191284,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Engineering & MIS (ICEMIS)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125774726","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These applications generate sensitive data transmitted through the wireless network. Furthermore, IoT devices are perceived as limited devices due to inadequate computation resources, such as memory, processing capabilities, and power. These challenges regarding the IoT devices are considered a drawback when trying to encrypt the transmitted data using classical encryption methods. Therefore, we proposed an enhanced lightweight encryption algorithm based on the DNA sequence to be sufficient to overcome the limited IoT device's computational resources. In the enhanced algorithm, the DNA sequence's random nature was exploited to generate an encryption secret key. The secret key is used during substitution and transposition operations to encrypt IoT-generated data that is suitable for the IoT computational resources. The experimental result of the enhanced DNA algorithm shows remarkable outcomes regarding key size, encryption time, and proportion of distortion compared with other encryption algorithms.","PeriodicalId":191284,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Engineering & MIS (ICEMIS)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126965603","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In most wireless communications, most of the research is focused on evaluating and improving service systems with higher data rates and spectral efficiency that satisfy more users and better channel capacity requirements. Modulation schemes and coding techniques are the key parameters for improving system performance to an optimized data rate without increasing the channel bandwidth achievable for a wireless system using orthogonal space-time block code (OSTBC) with modern multiinput multi-outputs (MIMO) systems. This work concentrates on evaluating bit error rate (BER) performance of16-PSK modulation technique with and without applying trellis-coded modulation (TCM) coding over three different communication channels, additive white gaussian noise (AWGN), Rayleigh, and Rician channels, using MIMO system to obtain a sensible BER performance while a 2x2 MIMO system is proposed. The achieved simulation results in both cases of 16-PSK with and without applying TCM showed that more Eb/No energy is required for the 16-PSK without TCM to achieve the same BER compared to 16-PSK with TCM coding technique. Therefore, applying TCM coding technique improved the performance on average by about 3 dB. Also, in both cases with and without TCM coding over AWGN channel gives better performance compared to the Rician and Rayleigh channels.","PeriodicalId":191284,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Engineering & MIS (ICEMIS)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114291175","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These deficiencies are the result of imbalances between the In-phase (I) and Quadrature phase (Q) branches. For zero-IF receiver design which is commonly used in practice, IQ imbalance has been identified as one of the most critical issues. The signal to noise ratio (SNR) at the receiver, data rates and the supported constellation are some key metrices severely impacted by this imbalance. In this paper, the impact of IQ imbalance on OFDM receivers and digital techniques for mitigating the effect of IQ imbalance are explored and studied. We analyse IQ imbalance models and estimation techniques based on a low-complexity feed-forward and a standard-independent IQ imbalance compensation algorithms. The outcome of the constellation method may suggest that the proposed techniques increase performance appropriately.","PeriodicalId":191284,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Engineering & MIS (ICEMIS)","volume":"7 11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116822432","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
