In our previous study [1], group communication scheme was proposed in order to meet the requirements of M2M: extremely low power consumption of devices and mass device transmission while causing minimal change of the standards. One of typical M2M applications is measurement report to an M2M server. The size of measurement report packet would be as small as a few bits. For efficient packet transmission of M2M devices' small packets in group based M2M communication, network coding based transmission scheme is proposed in this paper. By employing the proposed scheme, feedback overhead of error control can be substantially reduced. The simulation results show that the transmission efficiency can be improved up to 26dB.","PeriodicalId":191169,"journal":{"name":"ICTC 2011","volume":"95 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122560158","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At the 1st stage, the codewords are grouped into a small number of categories by utilizing Grassmannian criterion or Lloyd's algorithm. At the 2nd stage, the optimal centroid is selected within those of the groups, which maximizes the capacity criterion. At the 3rd stage, the optimal index of QEGT codebook is determined within the group of the selected centroid. Monte-Carlo simulations are presented to show that the codebook index search complexity is halved whilst maintaining the almost same symbol error rate.","PeriodicalId":191169,"journal":{"name":"ICTC 2011","volume":"139 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115597782","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

But induction lamps (hereafter, ‘electrodeless fluorescent lamp’ can be simplified as ‘magnetic induction lamp’ or ‘induction lamp’ for convenience) have some risks to cause harmful radio interference unavoidably due to its own inductive characteristics. In this paper we measured the radio disturbance characteristics of the induction lamps with two kinds of operating frequencies, and compared the values with the limits of relevant standards. Finally we have estimated the interference protection distance between the induction lamps and some services around their operating frequencies, and considered the desirable future scopes and limits of the induction lamp applications.","PeriodicalId":191169,"journal":{"name":"ICTC 2011","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130819531","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Dielectric layer of antigen-antibodies bind on the conducting metal surface, which is helpful for the scattering of electro magnetic radiation. Different types of antigens such as Interferon Gamma, C-reactive protein and Troponin I were adsorbed on the InNP substrate and interact with specific antibodies. The antigen-antibody detection was based on the photon count measurements before and after protein binding observed by CMOS image sensor, which is converted into digital form with the help of analog to digital converter (ADC). Various thickness of InNP substrates were analyzed for antigen-antibody interaction. The photon counts gradually decrease when subsequent protein layers adsorbed on the substrates. This photon number is directly proportional to the digital number observed with the CMOS sensor for detecting antigen-antibody interactions.","PeriodicalId":191169,"journal":{"name":"ICTC 2011","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127200156","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANETs) when implemented, will make the largest implementation of ad-hoc networks. It has been observed that security of VANETs is of paramount importance, because malicious attacks can endanger human lives. Considerable research has been focused on enhancing the security of such networks via secure protocols designed for VANETs. This paper, in addition to discussing the existing security protocols, concentrates on ways to improve the intelligence of the decision system to enhance security and tackle spurious data, with the help of the physics of vehicle dynamics and historical data, which may be collected from various sensors like GPS, In-Vehicle Systems (IVS) and On-Road Assistance systems (ORA).","PeriodicalId":191169,"journal":{"name":"ICTC 2011","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114689219","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Primarily, we analyze seven video sequences by their spatial and temporal characteristics using the entropy and motion vector. And then we choose five video sequences with different characteristics to constitute a sample space and find their optimal initial QPs which can guarantee to generate video sequences with consistent quality by minimizing the variation of QPs in a GOP, while ensuring the encoding bit rate closer to the target bit rate in various bit rates. The optimal QPs are represented in a two-dimensional matrix form arranged in entropy and target bit rate. When any video sequence is given under any target bit rate, its entropy is calculated and mapped to one of five samples through the proposed mapping method. Finally, its optimal initial QP is determined by simply picking an element of matrix according to the mapped entropy and given target bit rate. Simulation results show that the proposed method achieves more obvious consistency in objective PSNRs and has secured encoding bit rate than noted algorithms. And it is also shown that the proposed method has a characteristic of generalization, since an optimal QP of an arbitrary test video sequence can be properly determined by using the proposed sample space of 2-D matrix form.","PeriodicalId":191169,"journal":{"name":"ICTC 2011","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115730954","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
