Thus, the fear of stigmatisation will evidently force many HIV stigmatised victims to remain silent than disclose their HIV status. The main objective of the study was to examine the influence of radio health sensitisation programme on HIV stigmatisation among residents of Owerri metropolis. The agenda setting and social learning theories served as the theoretical underpinning for the study. Survey research design was used. A sample size of 384 was derived using the Wimmer and Dominick online sample size calculator from the population of 555,500. The multi-stage cluster random sampling, involving purposive sampling techniques served as the sampling techniques with questionnaire as the instrument of data collection. The techniques required Owerri metropolis being divided into three manageable clusters. Findings of the study showed that radio health sensitisation programme on HIV stigmatisation has broadened the knowledge of the respondents on HIV stigmatisation to a high extent at a grand mean of 3.5(N=305). Also, at a grand mean of 3.4 (N=305), radio health sensitisation programme on HIV stigmatisation has influenced the behaviour of the respondents towards HIV stigmatised victims as it has induced positive behavioural changes in them. It was concluded that if there are myriads of media programmes specifically designed for mitigating HIV stigmatisation and scheduled at friendly airtimes across different media organisations, it will lead to an increased media exposure as the media constitute an effective strategy for combating HIV/AIDS-related stigma.","PeriodicalId":190996,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Advanced Research and Reports","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129597231","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It mirrored the purposes of supervision and the qualities of a supervisor. The impediments to effective supervision were highlighted through a qualitative method with interviews. Suye Secondary School is the case study, with the teachers as the respondents. The paper further established the meaning of quality assurance and the relationship between instructional supervision and quality assurance. The study finds out that quality assurance can only be guaranteed and the purposes of secondary education achieved under fertile conditions, one of which is effective supervision of instruction in Tanzanian secondary schools. The following are recommended: Head teachers and teachers who have many years of field experience should be used as supervisors. The question of handling different teachers differently in the name of favouritism should be checked by supervisors, as this does not promote merit. Bumper incentives should be provided to encourage the supervisors. This should come in the form of fat salaries and allowances. It also checks for corrupt tendencies among supervisors. The provision of requisite materials that aid their work, including adequate transportation for both urban and rural areas, should be a top priority.","PeriodicalId":190996,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Advanced Research and Reports","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127699592","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

And to provide baseline data required for future radiological impact assessment of the environment during the development of the natural resource. Naturally occurring radionuclides (238U, 232Th and 40K) present in agricultural soil samples collected within the bitumen belt of Ondo State, Nigeria was measured using gamma spectroscopy. The radiological health risk parameters; absorbed dose rate (D), Annual Gonadal Equivalent Dose (AGED), External Hazard Index (Hex), Internal Hazard Index (Hin) and Excess Lifetime Cancer Risk (ELCR) were estimated using standard analytical method. The estimated results of D ranged from 3.56 nGyh-1 (Omotosho) to 10.55 nGyh-1 (Igbotako) with a mean value of 5.83±2.19 nGyh-1. While AGED ranged from 24.07 mSvy-1 (Omotosho) to 70.72 mSvy-1 (Igbotako) with a mean value of 40.39±14.26 mSvy-1. Also, Hex varies between 0.021 (Omotosho) to 0.063 (Igbotako) with a mean value of 0.034±0.01. Similarly, Hin ranged from 0.030 (Omotosho) to 0.089 (Igbotako) with a mean value of 0.047±0.02. However, the estimated ELCR were much lower than the safe limit of 0.29 x 10-3, which suggests that even though there is little radiation risk associated with exposure to natural radionuclides, using the studied soil may not immediately pose a health risk to the locals. However, prolonged exposure may result in radiologically induced health problems.   ","PeriodicalId":190996,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Advanced Research and Reports","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130756612","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main aim of the study was to determine the impact of community leaders in the implementation of community development infrastructure. The study was guided by three research questions and three hypotheses. The study adopted a descriptive survey research design. The population of the study was 441,000 [1]. The sample size was 384 (60 community leaders and 324 habitant of the community) in all the six villages with community projects. The formula used to arrive at the sample size was Cochran statistics. The study used purposive and simple sampling technique. The instrument used for data collection was The Implementation of Community Development Infrastructure Questionnaire (IICDIQ) with three clusters. The instrument was made up of 24 items. Using Cronbach Alpha, the reliability coefficient of 0.92, 0.82 and 0.79 were obtained on cluster A, B and C with a general reliability of 0.83. Out of the 384 instruments administered only 360 were returned and used for data analysis. The 360 returned questionnaires represented 94% which was desirable for the study. Mean and standard deviation were used to answer the research questions while t-test was used for the hypotheses. The result of the findings shows that community leaders had positive impact in the proper utilization of resources for infrastructural development of the communities. The study also finds out no significant difference in the response rating of community leaders and other members of the community on the impact of proper utilization of resources for community infrastructural development. The study concluded that informal community leader serves as important machineries in community infrastructure development and their role should not be neglected. The study recommended that informal community leaders should always use the resources gotten from various quarters when implementing community infrastructure development.","PeriodicalId":190996,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Advanced Research and Reports","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131673115","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study covered Abiteye and Anotech Jetty water ways with nine notable communities assessed, where marine transportation and equipment haulage are predominant. The exposure rates ranged from 0.011 to 0.019 mRh−1 with overall mean value of 0.015 ± 0.002 mRh−1. The computed absorbed dose rates ranged from 95.70 to 165.30 nGyh-1 with overall mean                         value of 132.46 ± 19.05 nGyh-1. The estimated overall mean annual effective dose equivalent (AEDE) for the studied communities was 0.203±0.03 mSvy-1, while the overall mean excess lifetime cancer risk (ELCR) was (0.710±0.10) x10-3. The dose received by organs was highest in the testes (18%), the ovaries received 13%, while the liver had the lowest dose values (10%). Among all the estimated risk parameters, only the overall mean AEDE was found to be below the safe world recommended standard value while others were higher than their respective safe world average values. Hence the exposure may not constitute any immediate health risk to the resident of the study area.","PeriodicalId":190996,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Advanced Research and Reports","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125202902","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Research on the competitive advantage strategy of banks in the context of Asian region, especially developing countries, has been less discussed in the literature and the most interesting notion is that, as for the novelty of this study, it is crucial to explore the new era of financial technology, known as a fintech, which is currently blossoming within the banking services and markets. As such, this study intends to investigate the role competitive advantage strategy of bank through the emphasis on digital and human resource transformation towards financial technology era. By using a qualitative research method with the approach of case study, this study finds, as for theoretical contribution, that digital and human resource transformation do affect the behavior of bank in entering and adapting the financial technology era, for example, facilitating the human resource to acquire a new skills in related with the digital banking system. The recommendation of managerial contribution is also offered in this study within a particular section of this paper.","PeriodicalId":190996,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Advanced Research and Reports","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131588591","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study assessed the knowledge and awareness towards emergency response preparedness among large worship centres in the South-South region of Nigeria. Churches with large seating capacity (>1500), indicating large weekend attendance of no less than (1000) congregants that cut across Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Bayelsa and Edo states, were selected for the study. With the aid of a questionnaire and descriptive statistics, we collected and analysed the data for the study respectively. The outcome showed that 72.7% of the respondents agreed, “Emergency preparedness and disaster response involve an adequate plan to prevent an occurrence\". The worship centres indicated they were well prepared (60.1%) for emergency events with adequate knowledge about various emergencies (60.1%). The findings revealed that worship centres had not witnessed hazardous events recently (58.5%) and perceived electrical damage (53.5%) as the most common emergency at the centres. Mechanical failure (49.1%) was indicated as the primary cause of emergency at the centres, and most respondents to emergencies are volunteers. Overall, there was adequate knowledge and awareness about emergency response preparedness practices among the worship centres. The study recommended the need for worship centres to develop a common, efficient, coordinated multi-sectoral approach comprising all-hazard and hazard-specific measures to ensure preparedness for all types of emergencies.","PeriodicalId":190996,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Advanced Research and Reports","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124394840","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research was conducted from May to July 2019 in the center of the shrimp industry. Variables measured in this study include the status of shrimp fisheries, shrimp fisheries production data for 10 (ten) years, conditions of shrimp availability, size, and type of shrimp obtained through interviews using questionnaires used to obtain an overview of shrimp stock conditions in nature. Analysis of the estimation of potential shrimp resources using the surplus production method from FAO (Food Agriculture Organization). Surplus Production is based on the assumption that Catch per Unit Effort (CPUE) is a function of f (catching effort/effort) which is linear. Data analysis, it was found that the highest number of shrimp catches occurred in 2010-2015, while the status of shrimp fisheries from the maximum sustainable yield (MSY) was 10,943.1 tons per year. Based on data collected for 10 years, from 2010 to 2020, the number of shrimp catches in the waters of Bintuni Bay and South Sorong has not exceeded the value of shrimp sustainable potential. The highest shrimp catch in the waters of Bintuni Bay and South Sorong occurred in 2015, which was 5,473 tons. The utilization rate of shrimp in the waters of Bintuni Bay and South Sorong is 5,473/10,943.1 which is 50.01%, respectively. Based on calculations using the catch effort data analysis package (CEDA 3.0), the value of the catchability coefficient (q), intrinsic growth rate (r), and carrying capacity (k) are used to determine the population growth rate. In equilibrium condition, when the growth rate is equal to zero, the shrimp population is equal to a carrying capacity of 15.519,9 tons per year, respectively.","PeriodicalId":190996,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Advanced Research and Reports","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121357215","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
