The mathematical model of the dual three-phase PMSM is established based on a proposed vector decoupling method which can be used in both pre-fault and post-fault models. Reference stator currents relationship in fault condition is also analyzed and deduced in this paper. Based on the developed model, PIR controllers are introduced to suppress the second harmonic currents. The experimental results validate the effectiveness of the proposed fault tolerant control strategy in fault condition.","PeriodicalId":188371,"journal":{"name":"The 10th International Conference on Power Electronics, Machines and Drives (PEMD 2020)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114630292","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At present, traditional devices are too expensive to install across all 11kV/400V substations. This paper details an approach using the sensors in a typical android mobile phone to detect and measure load current at a cost significantly lower than traditional measurements. The paper covers the theory behind how such an implementation could be undertaken and presents results based on testing in a substation on single phase and three phase cable. The data is manipulated on the phone and then uploaded to a server. Results are encouraging but significant follow on work is needed.","PeriodicalId":188371,"journal":{"name":"The 10th International Conference on Power Electronics, Machines and Drives (PEMD 2020)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133040633","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This material exhibits high flux density and low iron loss. We confirmed the effect of the new material by manufacturing a test motor and comparing its performance against another motor with a standard material (50H350). The efficiency of the motor with 50H-CP showed an improvement of 1% compared to the one with 50H350 because of the low copper losses in the former. Furthermore, the breakdown of the motor losses was evaluated using electromagnetic field analysis. The iron loss was comparable between 50H-CP and 50H350. However, 50H-CP was superior with regard to primary and secondary copper losses. From the above results, the effect of the high magnetic flux density-low iron loss characteristics of 50H-CP was theoretically confirmed.","PeriodicalId":188371,"journal":{"name":"The 10th International Conference on Power Electronics, Machines and Drives (PEMD 2020)","volume":"165 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123511828","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Quantifying these is necessary to fully understand the impact of motor efficiency, requiring the use of finite element analysis of the winding. For an axial flux machine with a three-dimensional flux path, this usually requires the use of threedimensional finite element analysis (FEA). This work presents a method of using simplified 2D FEA as an alternative to full 3D FEA, a dimensionless analysis argument to account for changing winding conductivities and a frequency-scaling is verified with FEA. The time required to characterise a windings AC losses is reduced by a factor of three orders of magnitude.","PeriodicalId":188371,"journal":{"name":"The 10th International Conference on Power Electronics, Machines and Drives (PEMD 2020)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123867248","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed converter achieves larger step-up conversion ratio than the conventional boost converter by using a diode-capacitor cell. The cell consists of two crossly connected identical capacitors and two diodes placed in parallel. An inductor is required to be placed in the output-end to oppose the sudden change in load current due to series-parallel configuration of the identical capacitors of the cell. Thus, the converter requires two inductors to achieve the voltage gain. These two inductors are replaced by a dual-winding directly coupled coupled-inductor. This modification in the circuit improves the ripple in input and inductor currents and, ripple in output voltage without affecting the conversion ratio. Apart from that, the reduction of size of magnetic core also reduces the cost and bulkiness of the proposed converter.","PeriodicalId":188371,"journal":{"name":"The 10th International Conference on Power Electronics, Machines and Drives (PEMD 2020)","volume":"129 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130273034","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
