Abstract
This paper proposes a fault-tolerant control strategy to suppress the second harmonic current and torque ripple in dual threephase PMSMs with inductance asymmetry due to single-phase open circuit. The mathematical model of the dual three-phase PMSM is established based on a proposed vector decoupling method which can be used in both pre-fault and post-fault models. Reference stator currents relationship in fault condition is also analyzed and deduced in this paper. Based on the developed model, PIR controllers are introduced to suppress the second harmonic currents. The experimental results validate the effectiveness of the proposed fault tolerant control strategy in fault condition.
