Self-protection jamming systems are designed to deceive the targeted radar by generating false targets in range. The proposed jamming technique the jamming signal is acquired by dividing the intercepted radar signal into several equal chunks by bandwidth division, and then finds optimal retransmission order. After dividing the radar signal into multiple chunks, we impose phase modulation on intercepted radar signal. The resultant jamming signal is coherent with the matched filter, and provides considerable processing gain to the jamming signal which generates false target peaks. The jamming signal enhances the detection threshold as the real target is surrounded by false target in non-symmetrical order. The characteristics of bandwidth division and phase modulation are analyzed in detail and then the jamming signal model is presented. Simulation results are presented to validate the correctness and effectiveness of the jamming method. Comparing with the conventional coherent noise jamming, the proposed jamming signal model is capable of generating a greater number of false targets after CFAR detection. The jamming effect to the hostile radar is analyzed at the plan position indicator (PPI) of radar which generates track of multiple false targets after passing through radar signal processing module.","PeriodicalId":187761,"journal":{"name":"2020 17th International Bhurban Conference on Applied Sciences and Technology (IBCAST)","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127117602","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In SFP, fault prediction is based on software metrics that reflect any aspect of the software, where coupling is one of them. Software coupling is one such metric, which is a measure of the interdependency of software modules. Coupling induces complexity in the coupled module and makes it difficult to comprehend. Eventually, more coupled modules are likely to be faultier. This spurs a need to evaluate the impact of coupling exclusively, on fault proneness. Since, coupling by inheritance is harmless, as it promotes reusability, so coupling through inheritance is not considered. We evaluated seven coupling metrics on 87 different publicly available datasets. After pre-processing, selected datasets are split with all possible coupling metrics. Resulting 474 split datasets are used for the experiments. These datasets have only coupling metrics and nominal-binary class labels. Model building and validation are done for Support Vector Machine. Results of entropy-loss shows that coupling metrics are good predictors of faults in software. Furthermore, {Coupling Between Objects, Design Complexity, Fan-in} outperform the rest of the 30 feature set. Finally, coupling metrics are ranked by keeping in view their position achieved and the number of accompanying metrics. This declares Efferent Coupling as the best coupling metric with respect to the other six coupling metrics in 474 datasets. The paper concludes the viability of coupling metrics in software fault prediction. Evaluating the absolute impact of coupling in SFP and then the relative ranking of coupling metrics is the significance of this paper.","PeriodicalId":187761,"journal":{"name":"2020 17th International Bhurban Conference on Applied Sciences and Technology (IBCAST)","volume":"165 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123783257","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Traditionally, cascaded bulk components were used in these systems, which worked by manipulating the propagation phase of the incident light. These large components made the system impossible to miniaturize, which led to an interest in compact optical systems and the search for novel materials which would enable the system to exhibit the same phase-dictated phenomena through wavefront shaping. Here, we present a single-layered all-dielectric metasurface structure with nano-resonators which engineer the wavefront to achieve asymmetric transmission of circularly polarized light. A mathematical analysis of the phenomena is done using Jones Calculus. Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) Solutions is then used to optimize the structure hence achieving a 76% Asymmetric Transmission Parameter.","PeriodicalId":187761,"journal":{"name":"2020 17th International Bhurban Conference on Applied Sciences and Technology (IBCAST)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116169973","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On the other hand, TO produces very complex geometrical features (i.e. irregular shape and hidden cavities along the thickness) that is sometimes difficult to be manufactured even with Additive Manufacturing (AM) and Casting techniques. In this paper suitable design and manufacturing constraint (MC) are applied during TO process that act as an Optimization Tool (OT) and improves geometrical features of the mechanical structures for easy manufacturing. Three mechanical structures with different geometries and boundary conditions have been considered for analysis purpose. Topology Optimization based on linear static analysis has been performed using OptiStruct (HyperWorks) solver. Finally, results of analysis conclude that the proposed OT produces lightweight structures with very simple geometries that can easily be manufactured with the help of AM or Casting techniques.","PeriodicalId":187761,"journal":{"name":"2020 17th International Bhurban Conference on Applied Sciences and Technology (IBCAST)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122034786","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, carbureted vehicles have many drawbacks such as higher fuel consumption, cold start problem, and many hazardous emissions. Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) is a sophisticated and effective fuel delivery system that is developed to replace carburetor in order to increase fuel efficiency and reduce emissions and it is also a low cost alternative in an effort to reduce fuel costs and air pollution. In this paper, a comprehensive study was performed by replacing carbureted system with a closed-loop EFI system for small 70 cm3 4-stroke gasoline engine and test results were extracted by comparing both systems in terms of fuel consumption and its drivability. The results show that EFI system improves average fuel economy of 13% on most of its speed ranges and it also offers significant fuel saving of 16.4% on loaded condition relative to otherwise equivalent, carbureted baseline vehicles. The reasons for better fuel efficiency are due to the determination of correct fuel quantity for different engine operating conditions by using pulse-width correction factors and by engine maps optimization with respect to engine speed and load. Other benefits related to this system, are improved cold start and drivability.","PeriodicalId":187761,"journal":{"name":"2020 17th International Bhurban Conference on Applied Sciences and Technology (IBCAST)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128735268","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is more efficient to use bidirectional cables rather than two different cables for two way communication. This research is carried out to satisfy the curiosity that what can be done to improve already deployed bidirectional optical networks. In this paper polarization manipulation is used to reduce Four Wave Mixing in bidirectional fiber cable in already deployed DWDM system for underwater applications. Only one component is added to previously used systems, circular polarizer. Circular polarizers are used alternately to change the polarization of incoming pulses into right handed and left handed polarizations. Simulations are carried out in “Opti system” software at 10 Gbps using bidirectional fiber optics cable having 8 channels. System's performance is analyzed on the basis of four wave mixing efficiency, BER, Q factor, received power and eye diagram. Results show that 10 dB of reduction in FWM efficiency is observed at downlink and 7 dB in uplink while improving Q factor and BER at the same time.","PeriodicalId":187761,"journal":{"name":"2020 17th International Bhurban Conference on Applied Sciences and Technology (IBCAST)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129437576","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The examples of CPSs include Smart Girds (SG), Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), transportation networks etc. However, the Ubiquitiy of CPSs pose extra challenges to the systems, such as intrusions from external agent and failures originated internally in nodes of the networks. These internally appeared failures are generally referred to as faults. The Drift fault, that result in increasing linearly the output of sensor from normal value, is the most commonly occured fault in sensor nodes. In this paper, a fault detection model is proposed using machine learning to identify drift fault immediately after it appears in sensor. The proposed approach uses an Auto-Encoder (AE) to extract features from the raw signal of sensor. The vector of features is forwrded to Support Vector Machine (SVM) for fault identification. We compare the performance of four different architectures of AE: primary AE, Stacked AE (SAE), Denoising AE (DAE), and Stacked Denoising AE (SDAE). The number of features extracted by these network is varied from 2 to 15. The accuracy of the SVM is used as a parameter for comparison. The results shows that the DAE outperform the counter AE, SAE, and SDAE architectures.","PeriodicalId":187761,"journal":{"name":"2020 17th International Bhurban Conference on Applied Sciences and Technology (IBCAST)","volume":"91 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123616846","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Moreover, it is challengeable to find out the breakdown strength behavior due to the complex elements involved in such kind of quite non-equilibrium process. The well-organized structure of sandwich type polymeric dielectric nanocomposites resulted regionalized conveyance of nanofillers, which is critical to figure out electrical properties of the composites. In this research study, pure polymer poly(vinylidene fluoride) and BaTiO3/poly(vinylidene fluoride) (BT/PVDF, denominated as Bv(various loading of nanofillers) and Bc(constant loading of nanofillers) sandwich structured nanocomposites (Bv-Bc-Bv) were prepared and their electrical breakdown strength and dielectric behavior capabilities were studied. The significantly enhanced breakdown strengths were seen in pure polymer and Bv-Bc-Bv sandwich structured nanocomposites by loading 3% volume fraction of nanofillers with ∼539.69kV/mm and ∼409.01kV/mm respectively. Electrical storage properties of sandwich structured nanofilms were generally directed by “electric field distribution” due to the tallying of high dielectric constant BT nanofillers in the layered structures, which was verified by COMSOL simulations. It was shown that optimum quantity of nanofillers loading in the specified design of nanocomposites with optimized parameters like film casting temperature, mass ratio of polymeric material with nanofillers and annealing temperature play necessary role to enhance ESP.","PeriodicalId":187761,"journal":{"name":"2020 17th International Bhurban Conference on Applied Sciences and Technology (IBCAST)","volume":"96 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124513622","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
