Learning has been identified as one of the strategic weapons that influence the the development of appropriate business practices in a turbulent environment. However, there is scanty development of appropriate business practices in a turbulent environment. However, there is scanty literature that relates learning orientation and customer retention practices in agro-processing MSEs specifically in developing economies like Tanzania. This study examines the influence of learning orientation on customer retention practices. The quantitative research approach and cross-sectional research design were adopted. We obtained a total response of 302 questionnaires distributed to owner-managers of micro and small agro-processing enterprises in Arusha, Morogoro and Dar es Salaam regions in Tanzania. Structural Modelling Equation was used in data analysis. The study established that, learning orientation dimensions of learning orientation were positively and significantly influence customer retention practices except shared vision which posted only a positive relationship with competitor analysis and inter-functional coordination practices of agro-processing MSEs. The results provide implications that owner-managers who wish to form appropriate customer retention practices should enhance their learning orientation by putting commitment to learning, opening their doors to new ideas and knowledge and having a shared share vision towards learning. The study recommends that business practitioners and institutions that oversee and support the activities of micro and small business enterprises in Tanzania need to develop a well-built learning environment to accelerate the learning behaviour, competitiveness and sustainability of these firms.","PeriodicalId":187487,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Small Business and Entrepreneurship Research","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127358593","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study adopted correlational design, exploratory design and cross-sectional cohort study. The study used non-proportionate stratified random sampling techniques and purposive sampling techniques. A total population of 55 rehabilitation professionals and sample size of 48 was determined using Krejcie and Morgan Table formula at 0.05 level of significance. Also, 48 copies of questionnaire were distributed to the respondents, while 42 copies were completed, retrieved, processed and analyzed. The instrument was validated with rehabilitation experts practising entrepreneurship, also various approach were employed to authenticate the reliability, the outcome of Cronbach Alpha Co-efficient is 0.954 (95.40%), Spearman-Brown equal length is 0.974 (97.40%) and Guttman Split-Half Coefficient is 96.10 (0.961). Ten research questions and ten hypotheses were raised which was tested with multiple regression analysis and KMO/Barllet’s test for the sampling adequacy on data appropriateness and sphericity respectively via SPSS 25 version. From the findings, therapeutic entrepreneurship aligned positively with occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech therapy. In conclusion, the apriori expectations could be deduced that there is positive outcome from the Condition Index and Eigenvalue which revealed there is minute multicollinearity presence among the therapeutic innovation skills, therapeutic risk culture and therapeutic passion in alignment with rehabilitation therapy, but was ignored because of the VIF and Tolerance outcome. Hence, it could be generally concluded that the study alignment is based on correlational rather than collinearity. This is in accord with the findings from the regression model used to analyze the hypotheses. Thus, the null hypotheses were rejected, while the alternate hypotheses were accepted. Based on the findings and conclusion, this study contributes to the knowledge that therapeutic entrepreneurship is an active support to SDG and booster to entrepreneurs with capability to rehabilitates business enterprise owners with unawesome condition, challenges and cases (i.e. trauma, autism, amputation and deformity) in line with their entrepreneurial journey, dreams and vision. It could be recommended that entrepreneurship rehabilitation therapist should be employed as a major trend of research and development towards achieving the SDG and should be design as academic curriculum. Additionally, it should be adopted as course of study in vocational and technical training program.","PeriodicalId":187487,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Small Business and Entrepreneurship Research","volume":"160 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116236687","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A qualitative research design was utilized in the study. In doing so, a thematic and theoretical approach was used in presenting the facts. Entrepreneurial skills were indexed to include: technical skills, business skills and personal entrepreneurial skills. Their relationships with self-employment as seen in the literature were analyzed. The influence of the mediators (psycho- social factors: self- motivation and social influence) were also analyzed. The paper revealed that the proxies of entrepreneurial skills and the mediators as espoused in the literature were closely knitted with enterprise creation. The study thus concluded that with adequate motivation and positive social influence, entrepreneurial skills acquisition will metamorphose to self-employment.","PeriodicalId":187487,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Small Business and Entrepreneurship Research","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129092668","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Economic growth was measured using real gross domestic product, and tax revenue by ratio of tax revenue to GDP. The study controlled for other economic growth drivers such as trade openness, foreign direct investment, exchange rate, domestic investment and money supply. The salient findings indicate that taxation hampers the economic growth of SSA countries, and that domestic investment and favorable exchange rates promote economic growth in the SSA region, but domestic investment has a greater stimulating impact. Based on these findings, we recommend that governments of the SSA countries should implement tax cuts or expand the tax base of the local economy in order to reduce the deadweight loss of increased taxation.","PeriodicalId":187487,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Small Business and Entrepreneurship Research","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115782419","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study is quantitative research. A multi-stage sampling procedure involving convenient, purposive and stratified sampling techniques was employed in this study. A sample size of 300 was drawn from the 80 SMTEs. The study established that Ghana’s small and medium textile enterprises have not performed exceptionally well generally over the past five years. However, the study observed a relatively good performance in terms of their financial performance. Similarly, the social and environmental performances of the textile enterprises have also been found to be good. To make the most of using advanced technologies to enhance their performances, SMTEs must follow market dynamics, pay more attention to customer interaction and establish interdependent relationships in the industry.","PeriodicalId":187487,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Small Business and Entrepreneurship Research","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115206430","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
