First, this coordinated design problem is converted into an optimization problem. Then, the group search optimization (GSO) algorithm is used to solve it. The development of practical EVs and HEVs has been limited by the costs and effectiveness of ESS. Several problems with batteries include overheating, low energy storage capacity, low charging and recharging efficiencies, as well as life time. Installing a super-capacitor (SCs) as a second power source to solve some of the battery problems and to improve the performance of electric vehicles is a feasible and perfect solution. In this paper, a model of hybrid energy storage for electric vehicle with a battery, a SCs and a three port bidirectional converter was designed. To have smaller current ripple for the battery and SC which results in improved electric mode efficiency in hybrid vehicle and to achieve more control flexibility three-port bidirectional converter with novel control strategy, used for manage energy between battery and SCs. The results show that the proposed hybrid energy storage system, improves the working conditions of the battery, furthermore the peak and average current of the battery is reduced due to the working of the SCs, which provided better working conditions for the battery and increased the operating life of the battery. The distance-dependent measurement error is incorporated in the observation equation as a multiplicative noise. To overcome the impoverishment problem of PF, weighted aggregation of the likelihood and the prior is maximized through PSO in order to move the prior samples towards regions of the state space where both the likelihood and the prior are significant. Performance of the proposed approach is compared with that of Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) state estimator. Realizing the existence of a high number of installed CTs in an interconnected power grid would make this procedure costly and time consuming. This paper describes how to develop an economic, accurate, and time-efficient microprocessor-based CT test set. A full-bridge inverter is utilized to generate a novel time-efficient voltage signal to measure the required CT parameters. Using a fast discrete wavelet denoising algorithm empowers the test set to be used for actual on-site application where the measured signals are highly contaminated with the plant noise. The validity of the proposed method is verified against a wide range of real experimental results. The system comprises two primary users (PUs) and two secondary users (SUs). One of the SUs is a multi-antenna node which is employed for two-way relaying between PUs and spectrum sharing is achieved by superposing the secondary signal to filtered signals of PUs. We propose an alternating optimization algorithm to joint design of beamforming filter and power allocation in secondary relay node. The relay design is based on maximizing SINR of secondary receiver while ensuring quality of service (QoS) requirements of PUs and the maximum allowable relay transmit. Optimized and precise performance of wind turbine is essential for the sake of compatibility to smart grids. It is known that wind turbines have different control strategies. The goal of this paper is to check the relative stability of different wind turbine control strategies. First, the probability theory is exploited to find the probability density function (PDF) of model parameters according to the variations in wind velocity. Then a method based on the LMI theory is used to find the range of variation of parameters in a wind turbine, modeled by a linear parameter varying (LPV) model. Applying this method to the plant in different control strategies, shows that their relative stabilities are differed. In this paper we propose a novel method to detect left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) with the use of ECG. Left ventricular hypertrophy is defined as the enlargement of the left ventricle, which is a common disease among hypertension patients. Proposed algorithm uses discrete wavelet transform (DWT) to extract morphological features of ECG signal and exploits higher order statistic (HOS) features including kurtosis, skewness and 5th moment. These features are fed to a support vector machine (SVM) classifier with kernel function of radial basis function (RBF). Early detection of fire can substantially mitigate the ecological or economical costs associated with a fire disaster. In this regard, as smoke usually always precedes fire, an intelligent smoke detection system is proposed that exploits a Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) in order to aggregate the features of smoke. In addition, robust smoke feature detection algorithms are implemented that take into account both dynamic and static characteristics of smoke. The smoke features include motion, motion orientation (estimated by using the accumulation of motion) for the former and texture for the latter. One of the theories that has received attention recently is called Embodiment. According to this theory, in cooperation of a set of agents for performing a particular task, expertise might not be integrated in a centralized controller; rather it gradually spreads to component and agents. Based on this theory and despite the fact that the human brain is the main controller, expertise is integrated in the body organs gradually. In multi-agent systems a central controller controls and programs whole duties and jobs that agents should perform, this leads to have a very complicated central controller. While in embodiment systems, initially each agent with different structures are fed with some knowledge in the specific duty and then are placed together to accomplish a common task. Now, we will examine this issue that how much improvement is earned when every agent has got a specific amount of partial knowledge separately in comparison with whole structure is defined beforehand. This is because there is a trade-off between linearity of a PA and its efficiency. This can be a bottleneck in many of modern wireless systems especially those are to be designed for transmission of non-constant envelope signals. This paper presents an efficient predistortion method based on digital baseband injection of appropriate signals to the input to lower the Adjacent Channel Power Ratio (ACPR) parameter. A mathematical method is given to describe the nonlinear relationship between input and output of the PA The optimum values for the injection signals at the intermodulation frequencies are obtained. In comparison with previous works, the proposed method is relatively low cost and high efficient. Simulation results show that the proposed method is capable of remarkably reducing spectral regrowth in adjacent channels for different non-constant envelope signals.
