The second national operator will be issued with a PSTN license to provide competing services. The entry of such a new entrant operator (NEO) into the territory currently occupied by a monopoly incumbent operator (IO) will be built on a sound case for doing the business. This paper examines how the NEO will benefit from being new. First, the NEO has no prior commitment to any particular technology, and thus benefits from starting with a greenfield for its operating support systems. Second, it can leverage modern information and communications technology (ICT) tools such as automated mapping/facilities management/geographical information systems (AM/FM/GIS) and data warehousing to facilitate its task. This requires the joining of bulk samples. However, the current densities across the boundaries are considerably lower than the current density through the parent, thus joining techniques are currently being developed to prevent this bottleneck from occurring. One of these joining techniques uses a superconductive 'solder' to form a bond between two pieces of superconductor. The economic analysis is conducted using a software tool that will enable a designer to specify requirements such as user population, coverage and estimated traffic per person. The program then outputs the cost of the system depending on the input parameters. The design objective is to prevent any service disruption during and after handoff. In current wireless networks, as the population of mobiles increases, the cell radii are further reduced so the handoff occurs more frequently and handoff processing load may cause a bottleneck. The inter-cluster handoff scheme is more involved as the new connection needs to be rerouted. We propose a fast handoff management scheme based on the reservation of permanent virtual channels (PVCs) between any two adjacent mobility enhanced switches (MESs) in order to facilitate a seamless handoff that can support a high speed handoff connection processing load. Both analytical and simulation models are presented to calculate the PVC bandwidth for a given handoff blocking probability. Medium voltage direct current transmission lines transmit power without absorbing any reactive power, making it more attractive in terms of line voltage consistency and power stability. It can therefore be used to bridge greater distances with low voltage and low power. Breakeven distances between medium voltage alternating current and direct current lines are mainly determined by the cost of converter stations and therefore the technology and topology of static power conversion being used. Numerous multi-level converter topologies have been developed over recent years to address the industry demand for higher power and voltage levels. It allows regular updates of telemetry data to be made at pre-defined intervals, for a multiuser environment. The proposed system is constructed around a host PC connected to the PSTN via an internal modem at one end, and a number of remote terminal units (RTU), each located at one of the sites. The host PC is part of a LAN, and is connected to a server. Data acquired from the sites by the host PC, are finally transferred to the server, which is configured as an Internet Information Server (IIS). A web site is hosted on that server to allow user-access to the data.
