With reference to cascaded H-bridge topology, first the possible conditions of \"single fault\" are classified by analyzing the modification of output voltages when a generic power device is damaged (\"short-circuited\" or \"definitely open\"). Then a procedure for on-line quick identification of the corrupted device is explained. It is based only on output voltages and currents measurements and does not require additional sensors. The minimum number of measurements allowing fault identification is linked to the number of converter levels. Finally, failure adapted techniques of converter modulation are presented and simulation results are discussed with reference to some significant cases. These techniques have the aim to minimize the influence of the different faults on the service of the whole drive.","PeriodicalId":185737,"journal":{"name":"2007 IEEE International Symposium on Diagnostics for Electric Machines, Power Electronics and Drives","volume":"65 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133027529","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Rotor faults give rise to harmonic side band currents and double slip frequency shaft torque oscillations, however. The total drive inertia thus influences the speed ripple which, again, influences the balance of the magnitudes of the lower and upper side band current. Considering certain assumptions, the impact of the speed ripple on the current harmonics with respect to the stator and rotor fixed reference frame is investigated analytically. Additionally, the derived equations are applied to the Vienna Monitoring Method, a model based rotor fault detection method.","PeriodicalId":185737,"journal":{"name":"2007 IEEE International Symposium on Diagnostics for Electric Machines, Power Electronics and Drives","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127316573","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Any physical asymmetry of the rotor, as a broken bar or a broken ring directly affects the stator current and the machine torque by distorting the corresponding waveforms. The analysis of simulation results and experimental data obtained for different model parameters allows the definition of an expert system that can be further used for real time monitoring and diagnosis.","PeriodicalId":185737,"journal":{"name":"2007 IEEE International Symposium on Diagnostics for Electric Machines, Power Electronics and Drives","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125605310","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using the FEM tools, the two dimensional, field-circuit model (for electromagnetic calculation) and two-and three-dimensional mechanical models, for the large power motor, type GAe 1510/12 p were examined. The simulations, for load, for both rotational speeds, were conducted. The target of application of discussed analysis is the vibration behavior of the machine.","PeriodicalId":185737,"journal":{"name":"2007 IEEE International Symposium on Diagnostics for Electric Machines, Power Electronics and Drives","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126697563","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
