The main objective of the present study is to show the potential of applying virtual reality (VR) in neuropsychological rehabilitation and the consequent psychological and cognitive improvement of the person with ABI. A total of 27 participants of both sexes with moderate or severe ABI participated in an investigation in a clinical trial-type design with pre-test and post-test. Participants in the experimental group (n = 8) underwent a remote holistic neuropsychological intervention program supported by a VR platform: the Virtual Centre for the Rehabilitation of Road Accident Victims (VICERAVI). The experimental group results were compared with a first control group (n = 10) that underwent a conventional holistic neuropsychological intervention face-to-face program; and with a second control group that did not have any neuropsychological intervention (n = 9). We conclude that the VR-based neuropsychological rehabilitation program (NRP) at a distance produces better cognitive results in general cognitive functioning, learning, memory, and executive functioning than the conventional face-to-face NRP. Still, at the psychosocial level, the conventional NRP obtained results similar to those of the VR-based NRP, which did not produce significant improvements. Esta investigação pretende explorar a satisfação com o suporte social e o funcionamento familiar em adolescentes, com e sem irmãos. A amostra foi constituída por 365 participantes, 213 do sexo feminino e 152 do sexo masculino, com idades compreendidas entre os 15 e os 20 anos. Os instrumentos utilizados foram a Escala de Satisfação com o Suporte Social (ESSS) e a Systemic Clinical Outcome and Routine Evaluation (SCORE-15). Foram realizadas correlações de Pearson e verificou-se uma associação negativa entre o suporte social e o funcionamento familiar, isto é, à medida que o suporte social aumenta, as dificuldades familiares diminuem. Efetuaram-se análises de variância multivariada (MANOVA), com vista a analisar as diferenças em relação às variáveis sociodemográficas. Os resultados indicaram que, em função da configuração familiar, verificou-se que adolescentes de famílias com pais casados ou em união de facto apresentam maiores níveis de satisfação com a família comparativamente aos adolescentes com os pais divorciados. No funcionamento familiar verificou-se que os adolescentes com pais divorciados apresentam maiores dificuldades de recursos familiares, de comunicação na família e de dificuldades familiares. Em relação ao sexo, não se verificaram diferenças significativas. Finalmente, não se encontraram diferenças entre adolescentes filhos únicos e os que têm irmãos, relativamente à satisfação com o suporte social, bem como no funcionamento familiar. This study aims to identify possible consequences of social support perception in the various dimensions of psychological well-being. The study sample consisted of 283 Portuguese students, ranging from grammar to secondary education, between 12 and 17 years old, being 52.7 % were female. Two self-report scales were used to assess psychological well-being and perceived social support. Results showed significant influences of social support dimensions of perception (friends, family, teachers, and general support) in the dimensions of psychological well-being. Still, low levels of perceptions of support were also associated with lower levels of psychological well-being compared to those with higher perception support. The individual’s perception of social support is related to psychological well-being. These results suggest that adolescents support is a variable that can limit the development of capacities inherent to their positive achievement. Given the importance of facial expressions and theirrecognition, the aim of this study was to investigate the recognition of emotions in faces as well aseye behavior in subjects with social anxiety, using eye-tracking technology, to understand whetherindividuals with high anxiety revealed different attentional patterns concerning subjects with low orno social anxiety. For this purpose, a systematic review was carried out, resulting in 20 articles. Withregard to the main results, it was found that ocular patterns are concentrated mainly in the ocularregion when participants are in the presence of emotions considered negative, while in the presenceof positive emotions, eye patterns directed towards the mouth region were observed. Regarding theattentional processes in social anxiety, what is commonly observed in the literature is an effect ofinitial hypervigilance and later avoidance, especially in the case of negative facial expressions such asanger. However, the present review showed disagreement between the researchers. The purpose of this study was to validate and adapt the Caregiver Grief Scale (CGS), developed by Franziska Meichsner, Denise Schinkothe and Gabriele Wilz (2016) for the German population, in order to assess the degree of suffering of caregivers. In order to analyze the psychometric properties of the instrument, we used confirmatory factorial analysis with a sample of 150 caregivers (formal and informal). The results did not confirm the proposal of a 4-factor model (emotional pain, relational loss, absolute loss, and loss acceptance), as proposed by the German study. Subsequently, we used the exploratory factorial analysis that suggested a unifactorial model, which confirmatory factorial analysis showed was more adequate for the study sample, with values of: χ² / df = 2.023; CFI = .970; GIF = .923; RMSEA = .083; AIC = 110,724. In addition, the internal consistency analysis indicated a Cronbach alpha of .936 and the Composite Reliability was .934. It was concluded that the multifactorial structure suggested for German caregivers was not replicated and that for the Portuguese population suffering is a unifactorial construct. The sample consisted of 67 individuals who have been submitted to plastic and reconstructive surgery and completed a questionnaire evaluating the influence of personality traits, optimism, self-concept, emotions and perception of satisfaction with social support, and with the perception of appearance during their admittance to the hospital, and 12 months after the surgery. In both evaluation moments, there were meaningful statistical differences for the variables Neuroticism, Extraversion, Openness, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, Optimism, Positive and Negative Affect, Self-Concept and Social Support Satisfaction. In both evaluations, Self-conscientiousness of Appearance reveals a positive relationship with the dimension Neuroticism and negative relation with Self-concept.
