Thermodynamic stabilization of the strongly basic aminoxyl anions toward protonation and hydrogen bond formation with the solvent was achieved by intramolecular n → π* interactions. The vinylation occurred exclusively at NH group leaving C<img>O function intact to afford cyclic <em>N</em>-vinyl amides in yields up to 97%.
