The development of new technology is constantly changing the ways that people look for work, perform tasks, buy and make decisions. Generation Y and generation Z are the most technologically and media driven generations, experiencing the 4 industrial revolution, economic and social turbulences and global changes. Hence, understanding the characteristics of generations Y and Z, and its chronological difference as well as the characters of the individuals is of importance not only for present analyses, but also for forecasting the future. In Macedonia, the rather high unemployment rate and risk of poverty create particular difficulties to economic progress of generations Y and Z. Minding the gaps in professional rise of Generation Y that occurs because of the unfavorable economic environment, we can optimistically rely our forecast that, the negative effects can be reduced for Generation Z, taking into account the positive trend of internet use and access to data, education and socialization. However, this assumption must be modeled properly in frame of proposed measure in order to create effective and sustainable furthering of Generation Z professional development, education and socialization. Appropriate economic policies on the national level are required in order to benefit the most from the potentials of generations Y and Z.","PeriodicalId":185410,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of The 5th International Conference on Research in Behavioral and Social Science","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125112806","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despite Indonesian central government’s commitment to eradicating human trafficking since 2000s, the number of cases of human trafficking remains significantly high. Field research was conducted on the anti-trafficking enforcement in three provinces in Indonesia, i.e. West Jawa, West Kalimantan, and East Nusa Tenggara, through depth interviews and archive studies. This research found that most of trafficking cases in Indonesia are illegal labor migration category where victims voluntarily travelled abroad for jobs without proper documents and sex trafficking. Institutional arrangement to cope with the crime and rehabilitation of the victims also lacking resources. The lack of clarity in defining the crime appears to have affected greatly anti-trafficking policies and law enforcement. This paper proposes a better understanding of human trafficking based on the practice in Indonesia and a more integrated policy to include not only the operational aspects of the crime, but also the proximate factors, i.e. institutional, economic, social, and cultural.","PeriodicalId":185410,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of The 5th International Conference on Research in Behavioral and Social Science","volume":"112 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130377554","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There is no relevant study about psychological problems in children living in conflict areas in Azerbaijan. The aim of this study is to examine the emotional and behavioral problems of children who have been lived in the conditions of war and have been forced to migrate for decades. The study was carried out within the scope of the project “Psychological Support to Children Living in the Conflict Areas” that developed and implemented by the author. The sample of the study consisted of 617 children living in the war zone and studying in the 1-4 classes of primary education. The students with age range 7-11 (M = 8.9, SD = 1.24) n = 314 (50.9%) were female, n = 303 (49.1%) were male. Azeri version of the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) was used to determine the behavioral and emotional problems of the students. As a result of descriptive analysis, 32.7% of the children were evaluated as abnormal and 21.4% of the children as borderline according to total difficulties score. In addition, 19.4% of the children had emotional, 20.3% were conduct, 12.2% were hyperactivity, 31.1% had peer relationship problems and 13.1% were abnormal in the pro-social behavior subtests. For independent samples as a result of the Independent Samples T Test analysis, it was found that male students had higher difficulty degree than female students (p<.01). The mean score average of female students was significantly higher than male students in the emotional symptoms subtest (p <.05), but the average of behavioral problems in male student was significantly higher than female students (p<.01). The mean scores of male students were significantly higher than female students in the hyperactivity, peer problems subtest (p <.01). However, pro-social behavior scores were significantly higher in female students than in male students (p <.01). As a result of the One-Way ANOVA test was observed that the students with poor school success had the high average of difficulty score than students with medium average and above average school success (p<.001). This difference was statistically significant for behavioral, hyperactivity and peer problems (p<.001).","PeriodicalId":185410,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of The 5th International Conference on Research in Behavioral and Social Science","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122673520","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The impact of the growth and decline of population on important types of warfare – armed conflicts and classic war. At its root, the importance of the link between demography and war is the relative capacity of a given political unit’s population to aid in its defense or to threaten other political units. For this reason, population increase and decrease have always been identified as vital security issues. Demography and war will continue to be an important and policy-relevant topic.","PeriodicalId":185410,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of The 5th International Conference on Research in Behavioral and Social Science","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130411856","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To this end, a descriptive-correlational research design was employed. The research population included all women filing for divorce in Court of Law, Mofatteh Branch in Tehran, of whom a total number of 100 women were selected as the respondents in the research sample using purposeful sampling. To do so, 100 women who were exposed to domestic violence and referred to the court to apply for divorce during a one-month period were selected as the research sample and two questionnaires (Domestic Violence Questionnaire and Sexual Relation Quality Scale) were administered to them. The results of the data analysis showed that there is a negative significant relationship between perceived domestic violence and the quality of sexual relations, so that domestic violence was found to be able to predict 34% of the variances in the quality of sexual relations among women filing for divorce. Besides, emotional, physical, and sexual abuse as the components of domestic valance had a significant role in this prediction.","PeriodicalId":185410,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of The 5th International Conference on Research in Behavioral and Social Science","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122255399","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this paper is to highlight the difficulties in the practical implementation of differentiated instruction in Greek kindergarten and primary schools. For the collection of the data, a structured questionnaire was provided to 306 kindergarten and primary school teachers in the region of Epirus in Greece who stated that they possess the theoretical framework of differentiated instruction and its implementation process. The survey’s findings highlight the basic difficulties faced in implementing differentiation. The data, although limited, are a trigger for further exploration of the issue of providing opportunities and supportive structures to teachers to effectively use in practice the differentiation of teaching and learning.","PeriodicalId":185410,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of The 5th International Conference on Research in Behavioral and Social Science","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126500260","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Janissaries were the well-known troops of Ottoman Empire and were famous for their unsullied loyalties towards the Muslim empire despite the fact they were Christians, and they fought against Christian for the protection of Muslim empire. This kind of obligation from the oppressed colonized is the result of their quest for “acceptance” and “adoption”. This is comprehendedin the character of Kip from The English Patient and Chengez from The Reluctant Fundamentalist who copy the colonizer and act like the janissaries of the colonial power. The process of mimicry is central for Bhabha who claims that the process of mimicry doesn’t only “reproduce” and replicate the colonizer but it is also a “menace” for the colonizer (86). Therefore, in the quest of imitation, an “alterity or otherness” is also created because mimicry is “almost the same but not quite”(86). The study has explored the “ambivalent mimicry” in Chengez and Kip through textual analysis. It has shown that these ambivalent characters leave their countries and get recruited or work for the colonizer’s benefits against their own countries. The colonized is obliged due to his inferiority complex and adopts the process of mimicry to be accepted. Moreover, 5th International Conference on Research in Behavioral and Social Science Spain | Barcelona | December 7-9, 2018 the study has also explored the “corruption of janissaries in Ottoman Empire” which resonates with the ambivalent identity of Kip and Chengez. Their rebellion is shown as a “menace” for the colonial power.","PeriodicalId":185410,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of The 5th International Conference on Research in Behavioral and Social Science","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133287372","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The present study replicated these findings. The study included 100 male and 100 female participants, aged 20-50 years. Participants were asked which shape (round or square) was preferable. A univariate chi-square test revealed that the round shape was generally preferred (57%) (χ 2 (1) = 3.92, p = .048, φ = .14). Moreover, a 2(male/female gender) ×2(round/square shape) chi-square test showed that the percentage who preferred the round shape was higher for females (57%) than males (43%) whereas the percentage preferring the square shape was higher for males (59%) than females (41%) (χ 2 (1) = 4.59, p = .032, φ = .15). This gender difference in shape preference suggests a fundamental difference between males and females in perceptual style.","PeriodicalId":185410,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of The 5th International Conference on Research in Behavioral and Social Science","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126039973","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
