The parameter estimates obtained from the maximum likelihood estimation method (MLE) and maximum product of spacing (MPS) method can be biased or inexistent. Though many other approaches have been developed, none is always efficient. Therefore, it is still a challenging issue to develop more efficient estimation methods. This paper aims to address this issue by proposing a mixed approach. The proposed approach is based on a modified Weibull transformations and involves three main steps. The first step determines two reference points from the empirical distribution function. In the second step, the location parameter is estimated based on the ratios of the difference between the reference point and data points on the modified Weibull probability paper (MWPP) plot. The third step estimates the shape and scale parameters based on the linear relation of the MWPP plot. The accuracy and robustness of the proposed approach is illustrated by a numerical experiment and its usefulness is illustrated by a real-world example. The results shows that the proposed approach provides more accurate and robust estimates than the MLE and MPS.","PeriodicalId":185173,"journal":{"name":"2023 9th International Symposium on System Security, Safety, and Reliability (ISSSR)","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114579171","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, due to the cancellation of a centralized oil source, it is not easy for the electro-hydrostatic actuator to dissipate heat, resulting in high oil temperature. The complex coupling relationship among oil temperature, plunger pump leakage, and oil properties makes the heat generation and heat transfer mechanism of the electro-hydrostatic actuator unclear. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct multi-disciplinary modeling and analysis of the flow field-thermal field of the electro-hydrostatic actuator hydraulic system. By comparing with existing research simulations, the practicality of the model can be verified.","PeriodicalId":185173,"journal":{"name":"2023 9th International Symposium on System Security, Safety, and Reliability (ISSSR)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116184146","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, a common challenge in automated medical language processing arises from multiple expressions for many medical terms, resulting in either multiple meanings assigned to a single term or multiple terms referring to a single meaning. Addressing this challenge, therefore, requires the development of efficient models for the normalization of specialized terms. In this research paper, we propose a novel method of graph neural network (GNN) in conjunction with a recommendation algorithm to explore the intricate relationships among words and sentences. This combined approach aims to enhance the effectiveness of clinical terminology normalization and resolve the issue of polysemy. Specifically, we incorporate GraphSAGE with a recommendation algorithm to tackle the task of word sense disambiguation. Our experiments demonstrate that integrating a graph neural network and recommendation algorithm for word sense disambiguation yields a noteworthy average Micro F1 score of 64.6%, representing a significant improvement compared to other classical models.","PeriodicalId":185173,"journal":{"name":"2023 9th International Symposium on System Security, Safety, and Reliability (ISSSR)","volume":"88 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123761250","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The reinforcement learning algorithm (Q-learning) offers a machine learning method to extrapolate a control law from an environment given discretized actions, without the need of complex calculations. In this paper, a vision-based controller is created using Q-Learning to enable tracking in a leader-follower configuration of two nonholonomic autonomous mobile robots. The follower robot gathers its desired trajectory values by using a deep learning SSD model to identify a distinguishing visual feature on the leader robot and uses a lidar to determine the distance between two robots. These parameters are utilized to select an optimal action of the follower robot through reinforcement learning. The emulated results in a ROS Gazebo environment show this method to be effective in enabling a wheeled mobile robot to follow another, while simultaneously avoiding obstacles.","PeriodicalId":185173,"journal":{"name":"2023 9th International Symposium on System Security, Safety, and Reliability (ISSSR)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133306359","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
