Therefore, 261 nursing students were recruited from October to November 2017. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 22.0 program with the Johnson-Neyman method in PROCESS. The effect of academic stress on depression was not statistically significant among nursing students with high social support. It was found that high social support can alleviate the effects of academic stress on depression in nursing students. To prevent depression among nursing students, it is necessary to continuously monitor the level of social support that nursing students were received.","PeriodicalId":185170,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advanced Nursing Education and Research","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116552744","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a result of the qualitative content analysis of the related statements extracted from the learner’s reflection journal written by nursing students, it was found that the pair discussion experienced by the participants in the PBL process affected the three areas of their learning experiences including learning ability, problem solving ability and communication ability. The findings of this study are expected to provide basic data useful for the development and application of instructional design and teaching methods.","PeriodicalId":185170,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advanced Nursing Education and Research","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126711301","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The subjects of this study were 99 nursing students in a university. Data were collected by recording the interview process conducted by nursing students with the standardized patients and transcripts were made from the recorded video. To evaluate student’s communication skills, researchers analyzed video and transcripts objectively. Female students scored significantly higher than male students in listening skills (p=.002). Among the items assessing poor interview attitudes, too much focus on writing records (61%) was the most frequent. Therefore, the findings suggest an importance to find ways to improve the listening skills among the communication skills under the situation in increasing number of male nursing students.","PeriodicalId":185170,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advanced Nursing Education and Research","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124578353","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The subjects were 40 patients in the experimental group and 40 patients in the control group who were hospitalized for the arteriovenous fistula or angioplasty among patients undergoing dialysis with end-stage renal disease. Anxiety was measured by Spielberger, Kim and Shin using the standardized visual analog scale of the state anxiety tool and Cline, Herman, Shaw and Morton. Self-efficacy measures were developed by Sherer, Maddux, Jacobs and Rosers, and self-efficacy tools were used by Hong. The SPSS/WIN 21.0 program was used to analyze the demographic characteristics of the population, the preliminary homogeneity test for the general characteristics and dependent variables between the experimental group and the control group, the x 2 test and the t-test, the information of the operating room nurse. The t-test was used to measure differences in anxiety and self-efficacy between the experimental group and control group. Result, trait anxiety (t=2.31, p<.024), state anxiety (t=10.18, p<.001) and self-efficacy (t=-4.59, p<.001) in the experimental group receiving the information program of operating room nurse were significantly higher. The results of this study suggest that the information program of the nurses in the operating room reduces the anxiety of end-stage renal disease and improves the self-efficacy, and it can be used as training data for the patients who are scheduled for arteriovenous fistula and angioplasty.","PeriodicalId":185170,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advanced Nursing Education and Research","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130210605","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
