It offer several advantages compared to the conventional 3-phase bridge inverter in terms of lower dv/dt stresses, lower electromagnetic compatibility, smaller rating and better output features. The proposed method has been designed an eleven-level cascaded multilevel inverter by using sinusoidal pulse width modulation technique. The selected pattern has been exposed to give superior performance in load voltage, total harmonics distortion and capacitor voltage fluctuation. In a competitive-market environment, deregulation of the electricity industry and thus transmission open access make it even more important to allocate the cost of transmission service fairly. Graph method and the proportional-sharing principle are employed to trace power flow; the results are then employed to determine the real power contribution of generators to lines and loads. The sequence of tracing of nodes is determined by using Breadth First Search technique. The proposed method can also be applied for reactive power tracing. In this model, the modification investment amount of each measure is set as a variable, and the core parameters, such as gray connection weights, indicator inferior degrees, as well as energy-saving efficiency of transformation, are obtained by gray relational analysis, sampling statistics and contrasts of sample transformation. Considering investment constraints and weight coefficients, the problem of the whole network energy saving investment allocation under the circumstance of limited funds is solved. Hence, to meet transient load requirements, they are used as hybrids with energy storage devices such as batteries, ultra capacitors etc in Fuel Cell Power Sources (FCPS). In the applications where the power requirement varies dynamically the reactant flow rates are required to be controlled as per the power requirements and also power flow between FC and battery is to be controlled. FCPS usually consists of a dc-dc power converter between FC and the load to regulate the load voltage in the face of a widely varying FC voltage. This paper presents a MATLAB Simulink® based dynamic model of FCPS for a 700W PAFC system with power controller and dynamic load model, for analyzing the dynamic performance and various parameters of the system. A lead acid battery of 17Ah is used to improve the transient response of the FCPS. All the analytical and simulation results are included. The present work focuses on regulating load frequency control ancillary service in a deregulated scenario with integration of potentially developing combined cycle gas fired power plants. A conventional Proportional Integral and derivative controller is used as a supplementary controller to optimize the regulation using Meta heuristic firefly algorithm. Using ITAE as performance criteria to be optimize, the PID controller parameters: proportional (Kp), Integral (Ki), and Derivative (Kd) gains are optimized using the proposed Algorithm by considering the possible feasible bilateral contracts between the various DISCOs and GENCOs of the deregulated power system. The proposed control strategy is investigated on a two-area interconnected power system consisting of Hydro-Thermal unit in the area-I and Thermal-Gas unit in area-II. The main objective of optimization is to improve the dynamics of LFC such as improving of the transient response of frequency and tie-line power oscillations and to optimizing the Power generated by various GENCOs according to the scheduled bilateral contracts. The purpose of this paper is to illustrate the noble methodology for EMG signal generation to provide efficient and effective ways of understanding the signal and its nature. We further point up some of the hardware implementations using EMG signal. The sampled reference phase voltages are added with a unique zero sequence signal in order to generate required modulating waveforms. By varying the zero state time partition parameter (k0) in the zero sequence signal, various discontinuous pulsewidth modulation (DPWM) algorithms along with space vector pulsewidth modulation (SVPWM) algorithm can be generated in the linear modulation region. Since its inception, it has proved to be a very efficient and robust technique for function optimization and has been used to solve problems in many scientific and engineering fields. The robustness of DE has drawn the attention of many researchers all over the world resulting in a lot of variants of the basic algorithm with improved performance. This paper presents the performance evaluation of four DE variants on non-convex Economic Load Dispatch (ELD) problem. It discusses the various adaptations made on a classical DE algorithm to improve exploration and exploitation of a search space. ELD is a powerful tool in power system optimization problems. The problem becomes complex due to the presence of throttle losses in a multi valve steam generating unit. Throttle losses cause valve point loading effect which makes non convex cost characteristics. Subsequently, MATLAB/Simulink model of PV panel, converter and control scheme are presented. Simulation results are analyzed in order to validate the performance of proposed controller under varying environmental conditions. Power quality is quantified via Power Quality Indices (PQIs). High power quality (PQ) level represents one of the main objectives towards Power system. The currently used Power Quality Indices (PQIs) that are a measure of the PQ level are defined based on the Fourier Transform that produces unrealistic results in case of nonstationary PQ disturbances. The paper presents reformulated version of present PQIs based on Wavelet Packet Transform (WPT). The paper also explores the WPT capabilities in accurately analyzing non-stationary waveforms and providing a uniform frequency sub-bands leading to identifying more frequency components especially at high frequency. A few case studies are presented considering stationary and non-stationary to prove the accuracy of proposed WPT based PQIs. Upon testing with different types of wavelets, Daubechies 43 is found to be suitable, requiring less number of wavelet coefficients and hence reducing the data size.
