In India, microfinance has become a significant force with self-help group (SHG) model and bank lending to groups, mostly women, being an acknowledged part of rural finance. The main objective of SHG's is to enable the poor of the poorest to obtain funds and utilize their skills to improve their economic conditions. Also, it is meant to do away with unfair practices and empowering people to be self dependant. These groups usually have not more than 20 members ensuring dynamic inputs along with faster decision making and transparency.","PeriodicalId":184815,"journal":{"name":"LBS Journal of Management & Research","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128222276","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The significance of crafting appropriate e-mail messages by business school graduates is realized by all. Business schools have the responsibility of nurturing talent and producing skilled management graduates as per the corporate requirements. This paper aims to understand whether management graduates possess e-mail writing skills and etiquette as per the corporate expectations. It will also help to identify if there is any gap in the corporate expectations and their experience once these graduates are hired by the company through quantitative analysis.","PeriodicalId":184815,"journal":{"name":"LBS Journal of Management & Research","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128955209","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A cross-sectional study was conducted on a sample of 132 employees working in public and private organisations in India with an objective to examine the validity of SCCT in the Indian employment scenario by exploring the relationship between career aspiration and proactive career behaviour. Further attempts were made to investigate if gender and organisational ownership alters the aspirations and proactiveness of the employees. The results suggest that higher career aspiration induces the employees to exhibit better proactivity towards achieving their career objectives. Networking emerges out to be the preferred choice for attaining desired career, which is among the three fundamental proactive career behaviours. The insignificant role of gender and organisational ownership heightens the possibility of other factors playing significant role in promoting career aspiration and proactive career behaviour in employees, prompting future researches in these areas.","PeriodicalId":184815,"journal":{"name":"LBS Journal of Management & Research","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132542590","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
