Design/methodology/approach: The article is cognitive in its nature. The basic research methods include the subject literature analysis and survey research. Literature studies include the analysis of domestic and foreign literature. The survey research was conducted on a sample of 4,000 employees by obtaining the survey return of 8.75%. Findings: The conducted research provides an important conclusion for the management. Namely, money is seen by workers (both regular workers and managers) as the most important motivator. Meanwhile, the salary motivators used in the surveyed company were poorly assessed by employees. Research limitations/implications: The survey research presented in the article may contribute to further empirical research. Practical implications: The practical implications of the conducted research make it possible to use them to rebuild motivation systems in enterprises. Originality/value: The research results indicate the need for a comprehensive reconstruction of the motivation system in enterprises. Keywords: salaries/wages, motivation, motivation tools, salary motivators, salary incentives. At the theoretical level, an integrated 9 capital market model will be created enabling the correlation of activities of the capital market 10 participants and emphasizing the very essence of political risk management and allowing for 11 determining their potential impact on financing the development of Polish regions’ investments. 12 At the empirical level, the matrix method of decision of problems in the conditions of political 13 risk was used, assuming the occurrence of the following events in the following system: 14 determining the nature of risk, identifying activities, determining possible packages of actions 15 within the framework of political decisions. The results of the research will enable identification 16 of implementation options for actions, and will support implementation of the capital market 17 development strategy. In particular, the following research questions are asked: (1) in which activities do they use the Internet? (2) How willing are they to use electronic tools in purchases? (3) Have supply chain problems arising primarily from the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine changed the buying habits of companies? Design/methodology/approach: SMEs were selected as the subject of the research. The questionnaire study was quantitative in nature. Findings: The specificity of purchasing in SMEs results mainly from a different way of managing organisations and often from a different approach to cooperation with suppliers. Research results show that small and medium companies are using the Internet increasingly in particular phases of the purchase process. They are becoming convinced (albeit slowly) of the electronic solutions available in the area of purchasing and appreciate their advantages. Supply chains and consumerization of B2B purchasing contribute to changing the approach of SMEs and popularising electronic tools. Research limitations/implications: The article contains a preliminary study. In the future, additional research is planned on a comparison of the use of electronic solutions in the procurement of SMEs in individual industries and in different countries. Originality/value: The article presents a detailed analysis of the reasons for the specificity of SMEs’ purchase. In addition, the results of research on the use of electronic tools on the Internet in the purchasing process are discussed. The conclusions of the research are important for domestic SMEs and organisations that support the development of this sector. Keywords: purchasing, electronic tools, supply chains, SME sector.
