Santos","doi":"10.55449/conresol.5.22.xii-004","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.55449/conresol.5.22.xii-004","url":null,"abstract":"The objective of this paper is to analyze the socio-environmental and economic situation of recyclable material collectors in Belém and the Metropolitan Region (RMB), the need to generate employment and income and the role of public policies in this process. To reach this objective, we start from the hypothesis that the insertion of the Circular Economy precepts in the productive chain of the collectors, will contribute to the quality of life of this category of workers, however a problem is raised that is to discuss the social and economic conditions in which workers meet. The Circular Economy is the base theory of this analysis, and we use the research-action methodology as a way to understand the dynamics of the work of the collectors, in addition to interviews in the recyclable materials cooperatives, a questionnaire applied to the cooperative members during the technical visits carried out. As a result, we identified that these workers have a socioeconomic profile, to participate in the government's social programs, and the income of these workers is only possible through the Circular Economy process, reinserting the secondary raw material in the production process. Toledo","doi":"10.55449/conresol.5.22.xiii-007","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.55449/conresol.5.22.xiii-007","url":null,"abstract":"With the increase in population and the lack of effective public policies, the generation of waste in Brazil has increased significantly, which results in numerous management and even public health problems, since part of the waste generated in the country is still have an inadequate destination, being sent to dumps and controlled landfills, other than that, Brazil still has a low number of sanitary landfills and, for the most part, with limited dimensions, even for the cases of waste that have adequate destination. A large part of the population still manages waste that can be recycled or reverse logistics incorrectly, resulting in a destination culture that mixes these wastes with tailings and organic waste, where environmental impacts can have gigantic proportions. Therefore, this study evaluated the potential of a residential condominium for the reduction of waste sent to sanitary landfills, where, through the implementation of environmental education actions, the National Solid Waste Policy (PNRS), Federal Law no. 12.305/2010, aiming to reduce the generation of waste, and the proper disposal of waste for recycling or composting. This enables the experience of EE practices in which the subject interacts with the environment, increasing awareness and responsibility for the environment where they live. In view of the exaggerated consumption and inadequate disposal of solid waste, there is a need to train responsible and active individuals in their communities. Thus, the present project aims to carry out, through non-formal education, the environmental awareness of individuals from the of the Environmental Scout Group Guardians of the Park 170 (GEAGP-170/SC) in Lages, Santa Catarina (SC), in order to encourage them to actively act in the environment where they are inserted, through the reuse of solid wood wast pallets, through the construction of trash cans and finally, installing them in pre-established points. The Project took place between September and November 2021, with nineteen participants, which took place in six stages, starting with a lecture on environmental awareness given by a Science and biology teacher. Afterwards, the participants were directed to the practical part of the project, starting with the collection, preparation, cutting and planing of solid wood waste pallets, finally, the assembly and installation of the dumps. As a result, twenty dumps were built and installed, throughout. the project, the active participation of those involved was observed, showing that with engagement and atitudes it is possible to contribute to the formation of more enviromentally conscious and responsible individuals towards the environment where they live, becoming disseminators of this education. The three pillars of sustainability aim to ensure the preservation of the environment and improve the quality of life. Thus, the present study aimed to analyze the determinants of costs associated with the management of domestic solid waste in a higher education institution, seeking to analyze, economically, the benefits of a selective collection program. Through the Systematic Review of the Literature, articles, theses and dissertations were identified in the Periodical CAPES and SciELO databases, and projects already implemented in universities and organizations were selected, which used economic instruments to assess the impacts generated by solid waste management. Then, the scientific texts were sent to a database of the Review Manager program (RevMan), in which they were organized, evaluated, commented and discussed. A total of 16 articles were selected and read in full. It was found that the main economic analyzes on the topic of domestic solid waste use quantitative data on cost control and management of the organization's waste, obtained by moving items from the warehouse and quantifying domestic solid waste. It is important to note that these are preliminary results of an ongoing study, so the conclusions are not definitive.
