However, a substantial size of this accumulated amount is discarded anyhow. The processing capabilities have been considered as one of the major barriers in the way of exploiting this priceless mine. Therefore, the issue has absorbed considerable part of researchers' concentration. OLAP has been considered as a powerful method for analysing excessive size of data that works closely to intelligent business, medical fields. Yet, such a method will always need increasing processing resources. Numerous enhancements have been suggested in order to improve OLAP performance, part of them has gone to the processing capabilities whereby parallel processing has occupied a sizeable space. A heterogeneous computing is a relatively recent approach that is being under examination. In this paper, through experimental results and based on Rabin-Karp Algorithm; we propose an optimized heterogeneous solution that takes into account the benefits and the boundaries in order to achieve a better OLAP performance in terms of response time with three times gain. Out of the total population in the world, about 22 million people run the risk of sudden heart failure. However, saving the lives of cardiac patients can be improved by the emergency monitoring so that the initiation of treatment can be taken up within the crucial hour. The acquired signals by pulse oximetry provide significant information about the heart-rate, arterial blood oxygenation, blood pressure and respiratory-rate. Telemedicine provides a great impact in the emergency monitoring of patients located in remote nonclinical environments. A home cardiac telemedicine emergency system based on photoplethysmography has been developed. The acquired signals are processed, transmitted and stored in a local PC. Finally, the data are sent to the remote terminal located at the hospital through internet. Three inertial measurement units, each with a triaxial accelerometer and a triaxial gyroscope were strapped on hand, lower arm and upper arm respectively for tremor data acquisition. The measurement device was selected based on the specifications of the commonly found tremors, namely physiological tremor, parkinsonian tremor and essential tremor. The data acquisition and postprocessing of the tremor data were done in Labview environment. The acquired linear and angular data were used to compute the tremor quantification parameters. The tremor quantification parameters developed in this work were Teager energy and tremor motion in pronation-supination, flexion-extension and abduction-adduction. The proposed tremor quantification parameters and wearable inertial sensors have the potential to be used in diagnosis of tremors. One of the challenges faced in this work was to obtain accurate data postprocessing from all sensors which transfer data in serial. However, as the number of users of this communication system is increasing, the challenges are mounting as well. The users send different types of traffic to the network, however it is necessary that the traffic must conform to the specified network parameters otherwise it will be troublesome. In case the sent traffic violates the agreement between the network and the user, then there is a need to regulate it. Traffic shaping plays an important part in the provision of Quality of Service (QoS) guarantee. Token Bucket Shaper, based on Token Bucket Algorithm is used to shape the bursty and random data in order to provide the QoS guarantee. This paper presents the performance analysis of a Token Bucket Shaper for real world data such as MPEG4 video and Real Audio signal. An optical wireless capability is similar to optical fiber systems which provides for a high speed and a higher bandwidth link. Other features of optical wireless system are higher speed, low cost and time of deployment and broader broadband technology. However, the availability of optical wireless transmission is very much weather dependent. In temperate region fog and snow are the two restrictive of the link propagation availability. In tropical region however heavy rain is expected to be the limiting factor of optical wireless link availability. The effect of rain on optical wireless link is expressed in term of specific rain attenuation. Available specific rain attenuation parameter of optical wireless link is formulated from data measured in temperate regions. Under circumstances that a particular commercial subsystem with the exact required specific features is unavailable, the realization of such a prototype can be delayed. In this paper, an example of rapid prototyping for a dual-channel biosignal data acquisition system based on the open-source concept is described. The selected biosignal is the finger photoplethysmogram. Except for Matlab, all other software components are open-source. The hardware design of the optical sensor utilized to record the signals is also open-source, making the system extremely affordable with the advantage of flexibility and customization. Precise timing of the samples allows for proper alignment and delay estimation between the acquired traces, useful in arterial stiffness studies. Although the results presented concern only two channels, the system has the ability to be expanded to six channels. The customary approach separates the two-phases first and then measures the mixture as individual components that results in the disruption of incessant industrial processes. Due to these limitations, this study is aimed to analyze a non-invasive, experimental study by using Electrical Capacitance Tomography (ECT). This paper presents the series of imaging experiments for waxy crude oil using a single-plane ECT sensor by variation in temperature. Normally in calibration, it is necessary to remove the sensor from transportation line and measure the capacitances when filled with the measured medium. On varying the temperature, different flow images were observed. FEM simulation was also performed to obtain the capacitance values. The raw data obtained from ECT tomogram images were analyzed utilizing distribution models and simulations using COMSOL. Infrared based sensors are popular as it enables a fast and non-destructive method to detect fat content and water in food items. Many researchers have used infrared radiation techniques to detect and measure fat since fat is a nutrient that is needed by our body to generate energy for daily life activities. However, excessive consumption of fats will be detrimental to health. Thus, there is a need for an easy fast and cost effective method to measure fat. This paper provides an overview of research in this area; that is the use of infrared technology to detect and measure fat in food items. VANETs do not face the energy resource constraint which makes them suitable for larger coverage and network life time. However, due to higher vehicle speeds, persistent issues regarding network topology arises leading to frequent link failures, stale routes, end to end delay and higher packet loss ratios. In this paper, performance of Ad Hoc On-demand Distance Vector (AODV) routing protocol has been optimized by introducing fixed roadside wireless nodes for data transmission in a VANET environment. The concept is based on the presence of such wireless nodes along the road sides in major cities in the world. The word infrastructure is used because these fixed nodes contribute in providing paths available most of the time; thereby a way of tackling the dynamic network topologies and link failures. Additional directional antennas are employed at the fixed wireless nodes to achieve Line Of Sight (LOS) communication between them. A distributed management and control approach, realized through the Multi Agent Systems (MAS) technology, is proposed for Smart Electrical network, due to the MAS advantages: scalability, openness, reliability and communications efficiency. Each agent is embedded into a principal actor and cooperates and coordinates its actions in order to find acceptable near optimal solution. This system proposes multi-level control architecture composed of two main complementary mechanisms: adjustment and anticipative. This paper details the anticipation level that computes the best future set-points according to energy needs and production capacity. These set points are then adjusted in real time by the adjustment mechanism.
