For the diagnosis of primary monosymptomatic enuresis, at least three episodes of bed wetting in a patient who has never been dry for more than six months are required (PME). Despite a 15 % annual maturation rate, 0.5 % of all instances continue throughout adulthood, with significant effects for self-esteem. Behavioral and motivational therapy, alarm aids, and pharmacotherapy have all been recommended as therapeutic options for PME. Desmopressin or antimuscarinics like propiverine or oxybutynin are the most common medical treatments for PME. Response failure to these medications is one of the issues in the management of PME. In recent literature, the influence of medicines that modulate serotonin levels, such as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), on urination has been reported. These findings show that SSRIs might be used to treat nocturnal enuresis without the dangerous cardiac arrhythmia that tricyclic antidepressants cause or the hyponatremia that long-term desmopressin therapy causes. The goal of our research was to look at the role of fluoxetine in the treatment of enuresis in children.","PeriodicalId":18173,"journal":{"name":"Mansoura Veterinary Medical Journal","volume":"163 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90426722","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

But the idea of weight regain is a risk for all patients after the bariatric surgery. The body weight regain is an important hindrance to many people after the bariatric operation. Hence, it gives a vast full of complications to occur in the future. The root causes for weight recurrence are highly variable, which includes socioeconomic status, physical, physiological, dietary, and pathological factors, which may also be procedure-specific. Little information is currently available about how to anticipate and treat all the patients who regain their former weight. The standard method would be to warn patients on the possibility of weight recovery and to be aware of the potential solutions if it happens. The management includes multidisciplinary counselling and requisite one or more revision or conversion surgeries. PIMS-TS symptoms overlapped with Kawasaki Disease (KD) which is hyperinflammatory and multiorgan involvement. PIMS-TS incidence is unknown as of date. Albeit little is known about this disease, reports had shown that this disease is prevalent in the region where KD is not a familiar disease while regions that are famous with KD reported no case of PIMS-TS. While some symptoms overlapped with KD, the difference now is PIMS-TS affect the child of all ages and have a quick and more severe progression of symptoms. Multiorgan involvement such as cardiac, renal, respiratory, haematology, gastrointestinal, neurology, and dermatology coincide with hyperinflammation shows that this disease needs to be attended under emergency cases. To treat PIMS-TS, many experts have shown the steps to manage it by using the culmination of previous KD treatment, the experience of adult COVID-19 treatment, and other types of paediatric hyperinflammatory treatment. Also to prevent other complications that accompany the syndrome needs to be addressed with supplementary therapy and follow-up is a compulsory as the syndrome is newly discovered. During the last decade, the state of art imaging techniques has developed for the imaging of patients with hyperacute stroke including both angiographic and perfusion imaging. The imaging modalities, which are in widespread use in primary stroke imaging include; computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging. Imaging can be categorized into structural imaging, vascular imaging and perfusion imaging. Important signs of early stroke on brain CT include; insular ribbon sign, the hypedense artery sign, and the development of hypo-attenuation lesions. MRI is more sensitive than CT for the demonstration of these lesions especially diffusion weighted images which are currently the gold standard for the evaluation of the extent of infarct core. Susceptibility weighted images are highly sensitive for the demonstration of hyperacute bleed within the infarct. CT and MR angiography are highly sensitive for the demonstration of large vessel occlusion which is very important for selection of patients for endovascular treatment. Perfusion studies can be performed using CT or MRI and are showing an increasing role in the identification of salvageable brain tissue (penumbra) and target mismatch between hypoperf used volume and infarct core, an important criterion for selection of patient who might benefit from endovascular treatment.","PeriodicalId":18173,"journal":{"name":"Mansoura Veterinary Medical Journal","volume":"100 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80724294","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Postoperative pain control is important yet it remains an unresolved issue which causes patient dissatisfaction and negatively impact quality of life. This review article studied the analgesic effect of topical and oral metronidazole after benign anorectal surgery. Seven studies used oral metronidazole and six used topical metronidazole. The studies showed that post operative pain score of patients who had metronidazole by either route was significantly less than those in comparison groups. The pain score decreased at all the time points for both oral and topical metronidazole. Overall, the analgesic effect of oral metronidazole was inconsistent among published studies. When topical and oral metronidazole were compared the post operative pain score and analgesic consumption were lower in topical metronidazole than the oral group Mansoura Medical Journal (Official Journal of Mansoura Faculty of Medicine) pISSN: 1110-211X; eISSN: 2735-3990","PeriodicalId":18173,"journal":{"name":"Mansoura Veterinary Medical Journal","volume":"61 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75414019","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
