According to the above, it is not enough to state that a tourist destination is rich in natural resources and that they have innate beauty, it is necessary to have a tourist infrastructure capable of meeting the tastes and preferences of tourists and visitors. However, the internal or organizational management of the providers influences, to a great extent, the experience and perception that can be created by a tourist visitor. The purpose of this chapter is to analyze the integral management of the hotels that provide services in the municipality of Santiago de Tolú, located in the Department of Sucre, Colombia; the conduct of the study required the analysis of environmental variables in the hotel industry, as well as the application of a structured survey, in order to further study the key aspects of management. Broadly speaking, the results show that management has been based on a family structure with transgenerational dyes, which has made it difficult to implement new administrative practices. Similarly, there are key aspects that, in the management framework, managers and executives have overlooked, such as having a business plan. {"title":"CENTRO DE INTERPRETACIÓN DEL PATRIMONIO DE SANTIAGO DE TOLÚ","authors":"Gloria María Arsanios Troncoso, Emérita Isabel Gil Barreto","doi":"10.21892/9789585547131.7","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.21892/9789585547131.7","url":null,"abstract":"The research object of this article, part of the realization of an analysis through primary and secondary sources of the main facts that mark the history of the municipality of Santiago de Tolú, in order to propose the creation of a center for the interpretation of the historical heritage of the Villa de Santiago de Tolú, epicenter of the Gulf of Morrosquillo in the department of Sucre, carrying out a previous study that allowed the identification of its heritage, the documentation of the main historical events and cultural manifestations of the municipality in reference. The methodology was applied in the municipality of Santiago de Tolú, in a year and a half. In order to carry it out, the main theorists of heritage concepts such as Molano, Massó, Piñol and UNESCO as a world leader in cultural heritage were taken as a starting point; besides the considerations of the current legal regulations about Tourism and culture. The results obtained allow us to conclude that the municipality of Santiago de Tolú has a great importance in the history of Colombia, as it stands out as an important supply center of the Spaniards in the colony, added to its main role as one of the main maritime ports of the time, a feature that it has retained to this day, due to its strategic position in the great basin of the Colombian Caribbean.
