Coherence property is also demonstrated by using an array of diffractive microlenses to focus the beam through a sample of B 270 glass. Finally, a simple technique is presented for inducing filamentation without the aid of a focusing lens and for controlling the location of the filament on the axis of propagation. This study is essential to gain an understanding of the various physical properties which affect the filamentation process.","PeriodicalId":179542,"journal":{"name":"EQEC '05. It is found that the generated laser light attracts the atom to field antinodes and cools its motion if the cavity mode eigenfrequency is larger than the atomic transition frequency. The system is treated via the Heisenberg-Langevin equations (HLE) and derive analytic expressions for the photon number, the force acting on the atom, and the atomic equilibrium temperature.","PeriodicalId":179542,"journal":{"name":"EQEC '05. In a periodic arrangement of sub-wavelength holes in a metal film the transmitted fraction of the incident light exceeds the open air fraction of the film for certain colours. This enhanced transmission has been attributed to a resonant excitation of surface plasmons set up by the periodicity of the array. But by merely changing the shape of the sub-wavelength holes from circular to rectangular can affect the extraordinary transmission.","PeriodicalId":179542,"journal":{"name":"EQEC '05.
