A distributed containment control scheme is designed based on reduced-order observer, where the observer uses only the output information of neighbor agents. By the analysis of Lyapunov stability, the state trajectories of followers will converge to the convex hull formed by the trajectories of leaders and their symmetric trajectories with a prescribed convergence rate under the condition of stability and detection of each follower, where the trajectory of each follower is influenced by at least one leader directly or indirectly. At last, the validity of theoretical results is proved by some simulation results.","PeriodicalId":179068,"journal":{"name":"2019 China-Qatar International Workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Applications to Intelligent Manufacturing (AIAIM)","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125983834","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Dense packing of containers can significantly decrease supply chain costs, since transport fees are related to the the number of used containers and not the content. This practical problem is generally modeled using the vector bin packing problem (VBPP) and its variations. In the recent years, the heterogeneous VBPP with two sets of constraints has proven to be a good representation of container packing related problems. In this work we extend this model to a more realistic setting, by allowing multiple containers of the same type. To solve this problem, an integer program is designed. To be able to find feasible solutions for large scale problem instances, a greedy constructive algorithm is developed. With the intention of improving the solutions generated in this way, a local search is developed and used to extend the greedy algorithm to the Greedy Randomized Adaptive Search Procedure (GRASP) metaheuristic. To evaluate the potential of using GRASP on this problem, several variations are designed and implemented. In our computational experiments, we have generated test instances based on real-world data. Experimental results show that the designed metaheuristic approaches provide high quality solutions compared to solutions obtained by the CPLEX solver. Further, one of the proposed GRASP variants has been adapted for the homogeneous VBPP and tested on standard benchmark instances in order to evaluate its performance against existing metaheuristic. The final conclusion is that the GRASP presents a promising approach for more challenging instances for which CPLEX cannot find feasible solution within a reasonable time limit.","PeriodicalId":179068,"journal":{"name":"2019 China-Qatar International Workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Applications to Intelligent Manufacturing (AIAIM)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131798329","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper propose the use of an artificial intelligence (AI) based technique to manage queues. The proposed Petrol Pump Queue Management System uses a supervised classification algorithm of machine learning. This is to identify the type of vehicle and be able to estimate the tank size to calculate automatically the time required for refueling. The main idea is to display the timer count on the screens so that the drivers of the vehicles that are in the queue will know the time remaining for each vehicle and accordingly they will be able to decide the choice of a particular queue, when there are multiple queues at the petrol pumps. Alongside, this system will help the workers in the petrol pump station to organize their work as they will be able to track which car is finishing first. As this system will organize the work process in the station with the help of notifications on the screens, any service issue or requirement will get highlighted directly.","PeriodicalId":179068,"journal":{"name":"2019 China-Qatar International Workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Applications to Intelligent Manufacturing (AIAIM)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117060487","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One out of ten people have some or the other traits of dyslexia, and because of this around 20 % face difficulties in reading and writing. Appropriate guidance provided to students with dyslexia at an early age can reduce the problems faced by them drastically. With massive strides in technology, a digital solution to this problem can prove to be more effective and efficient. For this purpose, a helping aid in the form of an android application is devised. It will help to fasten the learning process among these students who come across a wide variety of digital tools and are more prone to get attracted to such tools for learning than the standard pen-paper tools. The interest for the SDFPN comes from the fact that it well represents practical problems related to the partitioning of power distribution systems. It is closely related to the problem of maximal partitioning of supply demand graphs (MPGSD) and the capacitated spanning forest (CSF) problem that are used for modeling similar real-world systems. It has an advantage, compared to these problems, that it incorporates constraints related to ampacity, radiality, and the balance of consumption/generation in a partition. In this work, a mixed integer program (MIP) is developed for finding optimal solutions for the SDFPN. Next, a greedy constructive algorithm is designed for finding feasible solutions for large problem instances at low computational costs. In the computational experiments, we evaluate the size of graphs that can be solved to optimality using the MIP. The solutions acquired in this way are used to assess the performance of the proposed greedy algorithm.","PeriodicalId":179068,"journal":{"name":"2019 China-Qatar International Workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Applications to Intelligent Manufacturing (AIAIM)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125042619","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
