Methods: In our pilot study, a total of 111 people were interviewed. The questionnaire used in the study included the Hofmeister-Tóth and Neulinger value list. Health values and attitudes towards disability were measured using the MAS (Attitudes Toward Disabled People Scale – dimensions: affective, cognitive, behavioral), and the ATDP-O (Attitudes Toward Disabled People) scale. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 26.0 software. Results: Health ranks high on the value scale. Most people consider their own state of health as important (4.701) and good (4.126). Based on the results of the MAS questionnaire, respondents show a very negative attitude in all three dimensions. A significant weak correlation was found between the behavioral dimension, overt actions, verbal expressions of behavior, and the ATDP-O attitude scale towards people with disabilities ( r = 0.202, p = 0.034). Conclusion: Our results suggest that forming the right attitude is essential, and this can be achieved through knowledge transfer. It is important to strengthen multicultural societies, so that we can create a healthier, more livable environment in our world.","PeriodicalId":17818,"journal":{"name":"Kontakt","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2023-06-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48940578","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Design and setting: This research adopted a descriptive correlation design. It was conducted at the faculty of Nursing in Benha University, and the Paediatric Department and Outpatient Clinic at the specialized paediatric hospital in Benha city, Egypt. Sample: Simple random sampling was used to select participants over a period of two months. Instruments: Demographic details and a structured questionnaire were used to assess awareness of advanced devices and virtual nursing. An adapted Likert scale was used to evaluate the attitudes of participants. Results: Most paediatric nurses demonstrated high levels of awareness, whereas adolescents and paediatric nursing students showed relatively poor awareness. The majority of participants exhibited positive attitudes towards virtual nursing and the use of advanced devices for managing type one diabetes. The relationships between the awareness and attitudes of participants, and their age, gender, and economic status were found to be positive and statistically significant. Conclusions: Most research participants had no previous experience with virtual nursing care and so their awareness of the topic was poor; even though they generally exhibited positive attitudes towards virtual nursing care and the use of modern devices to manage type one diabetes.","PeriodicalId":17818,"journal":{"name":"Kontakt","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2023-05-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45034990","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study examines the relationships between physical health, social support, and mental health literacy with the mental well-being of Malaysian university students during the Covid-19 pandemic. The study population comprised 199 students. A cross-sectional survey was conducted with self-administered questionnaires that used the Short Warwick Edinburgh Mental Well-Being Scale (SWEMWBS), the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support instrument, and the Mental Health Literacy Scale. The survey also included items from the Global Physical Activity Questionnaire (GPAQ). The results of this study showed that physical health had a positive and strong relationship with mental well-being. Similarly, the results indicated that social support had a significant and positive relationship with mental well-being. However, mental health literacy was not significantly associated with mental well-being. The results of this research might provide policymakers, practitioners, and university management with useful insights that foster the positive outcome of conducting intervention programs to improve the mental well-being of students.","PeriodicalId":17818,"journal":{"name":"Kontakt","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2023-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42165593","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, a higher rate of self-recovery among Roma drug users can be observed within outpatient services than among the majority population. The described phenomenen is based on long-term observations and interviews with Roma clients at a contact center (an ambulant social services center for drug users) in the South Bohemian Region, Czech Republic. This article examines the cultural specifics associated with substance withdrawal among Roma drug users in the Czech Republic. Our analysis of self-recovery focuses on the description of motives for quitting drug use, along with the use of individual strategies and specific rituals associated with cessation, which are interconnected in the context of the cultural specifics of the Roma minority in the Czech Republic. The results demonstrate the impact of social capital on self-healing, where the influence of a broader and more cohesive family social network is shown. The social capital represented by the family of Roma drug users motivated quitting the most.","PeriodicalId":17818,"journal":{"name":"Kontakt","volume":"43 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2023-03-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41294740","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methods: This cross-sectional study involved 670 nursing students from 5 Indonesian universities who were recruited using consecutive sampling. Self-administered validated instruments consisted of 8 sections: sociodemographic questionnaire, RSES to assess self-esteem, BHS to assess hopelessness, UCLA-3 to assess loneliness, GSES to assess self-efficacy, PHQ-9 to assess depression, CD-RISC-10 to assess resilience, and SBQ-R to assess suicidality. Binary logistic regression was employed to identify significant predictors of suicidality.Results: Suicidality prevalence among nursing students was 22.8%. The following factors were significantly associated with suicidality (p < 0.05): low resilience (AOR = 2.044;95%CI: 1.309-3.192), loneliness (AOR = 1.609;95%CI: 1.040-2.492), hopelessness (AOR = 4.448;95%CI: 2.356-8.398), and depression (AOR = 9.413;95%CI: 5.795-15.288).Conclusions: These findings provide evidence that resilience, loneliness, hopelessness, and depression are risk factors for suicidality among nursing students. This outcome can be used as a basis to develop appropriate suicide prevention strategies.","PeriodicalId":17818,"journal":{"name":"Kontakt","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2023-03-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49366522","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
