The purpose of this study was to design the geometric and rigid pavement thickness on Jalan Lingkar Barat SP Sports Center Bukit Sulap STA 0+100 to STA 7+583 Lubuklinggau City, South Sumatra Province. The method used in this study was reviewing the vehicle volume, road terrain, and vehicle traffic load data. The analyses used were horizontal and vertical alignment calculations, and pavement thickness calculations. The generated design was referred to the standard criteria issued by the Indonesian Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing. The result from reviewing the vehicle volume, road terrain, and vehicle traffic load exhibited a total annual average daily traffic of 24404.06 SMP/day. Therefore, this road has been classified as Jalan Arteri Kelas I. From the alignment calculation, the road was designed with 11 bends: 4 Spiral-Circle-Spiral (SCS) bends, 4 Full-Circle (FC) bends, and 3 Spiral-Spiral (SS) bends, with an average speed recommended in the plan was 70 km/h. As from the pavement thickness calculation, the pavement designed was the rigid pavement with a thickness of 19 cm and a bottom layer of sand gravel mixture with a thickness of 15 cm.","PeriodicalId":177278,"journal":{"name":"Atlantis Highlights in Engineering","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114483746","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As citizens, the human has an obligation to dispose the garbage properly, however, there are so many people who still do not care about this problem. In this situation, The author introduces the Garbage Robot (G-Bot) which can be controlled from further place. This GBot works based on the Internet of Things (IoT) in which it can connect things so that they may operate together. This G-Bot can be controlled using some devices, such as: mobile phone, PC, and laptop. However, how to establish the interface for the G-Bot monitoring and controlling system is still a problem. Therefore, this paper proposes the interface design for the G-Bot. Using this interface, it is hoped that the G-Bot can be monitored and controlled using the user’s devices from further place. The G-Bot may go from one place to another place using speech recognition, human followers, and user manuals instructions that have been integrated in the devices. In addition, the interface design in this proposed method also includes the menu of the environmental monitoring, such as temperature, humidity, and air quality.","PeriodicalId":177278,"journal":{"name":"Atlantis Highlights in Engineering","volume":"119 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115610816","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The components that have thin dimensions sometimes have problems in casting like its flowing and compaction. Self-Compacting Concrete (SCC) does not need to vibrate to achieve full compaction and it can flow to reach the narrow side of concrete formwork. This study used a mix design to perform SCC beams with added material in the form of superplasticizer viscocrete with levels of 1.2%, 1.3%, 1.4%, 1.5% and 1.6% of the cement weight. For each variation of the composition, 3 specimens were made, each variation of the specimen was made for 14 days, 21 days, and 28 days tests. From the test results, fresh concrete has met the requirements for SCC concrete, but for the strength test and superplasticizer variations 1.2%, 1.3%, 1.4%, 1.5% and 1.6% have not met the requirements set by SCC. In this study, the highest average compressive strength value obtained at 1.6% superplasticizer percentage, which was 28.31 MPa with the highest average flexural strength value at 1.6% superplasticizer percentage, which was 2.97 MPa.","PeriodicalId":177278,"journal":{"name":"Atlantis Highlights in Engineering","volume":"72 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114805811","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As such system use the produced energy as efficiently as possible, they also have an influence on a battery storage which is often installed together with the PV system. Nowadays batteries are already durable and cost efficient, but the possible negative effects an EMS might have on its usage and lifetime still need to be taken into account and be aware of. This is why this work analyses the battery usage of heuristic energy management controllers in detail and compares them to two existing energy management systems. It is shown that the heuristic energy management controllers are able to reduce the number of used battery cycles and therefore also the charged and discharged energy remarkable compared to the rulebased self-consumption optimization and the linear MPC, which also leads to a prolongation of the battery lifetime.","PeriodicalId":177278,"journal":{"name":"Atlantis Highlights in Engineering","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130754208","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Germany is introducing a new auction mechanism within the German Renewable Energy Sources Act called “Innovationsausschreibung” (innovation tender) to gridand system-supporting VRE-plants operation. The participating hybrid power systems (HPS) must be able to provide one-quarter of their installed power as positive automatic frequency restoration reserve (aFRR). This paper reflects on the optimal operation and design focusing on sizing an HPS consisting of ground-mounted large-scale photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage systems (BESS). An optimisation model is developed in Python. It is solved using the Gurobi framework with generation as well as market data for the German spot and balancing market. The optimisation maximises the HPS’s revenue under consideration of the BESS costs for the applications energy arbitrage (EA) and aFRR. A case study for a ground-mounted PV reference project verifies the effectiveness of the model. Ultimately, a sensitivity analysis with long-term market prices and BESS costs along with different bit strategies is conducted. The total revenues less annual BESS costs vary from -3.5% for EA to +10.1% for the sequential combination of EA and participation in the aFRR-market compared to a stand-alone PV system. Considering actual BESS costs and market data, a minimum BESS design is the most economical from today’s perspective. Due to decreasing BESS costs and increasing market volatility, this is expected to change within the next five years. Progressive Web Application (PWA) itself is the ability of an application to have features such as web-based applications in general, but with mobile experience optimization in its use. One of these features utilizes the cache from the browser that was previously accessed so that it can save on data consumption during the implementation of learning and maximize the online test process. It is hoped that this research can maximize online learning and anticipate obstacles when students carry out online learning. For the test, the author compares the web application using PWA which will be built with the learning media used by Jakarta Global University which is based on Moodle. From the results of the tests that we carried out, it was found that the results of this optimization there were improvements in terms of Performance, Accessibility, Best Practice, SEO and PWA. Collected data from Lighthouse has shown that J-Lens has significant result compared to JGU Learning. Average J-Lens has a score of 26,8% more than JGU Learning for each score of JGU Learning 57,6 % and j-Lens 84,4% for this measurement. In this study, a model is derived for the open circuit voltage and the overpotentials of an all Vanadium system, based on the operation data of three commercial batteries over an extended period. The high amount of observations, especially the combination of a wide range of electrolyte temperatures and currents at different states of charge, allows for the correct identification and modelling of the relations between voltage and the measured variables. Different variants of Nernst equations are evaluated and it is found that considering temperature dependent standard electrode potentials and the inclusion of proton concentration in the catholyte are vital.
