Behind the reasons for choosing coal as an energy source, there are still some disadvantages of using coal directly. One of them is the coal contains a lot of pollutant that are harmful to the environment. Coal releases gases (CO2, N2O, NOx, SOx and Hg) that caused global warming and pollution. The process of solid convert to gas is called Gasification is. In contrast to combustion, the process of is a breaking of the carbon chain into the form of other elements or chemical compounds. In this study, the gasification process was carried out using the downdraft method. Gasification of coal will be produce producer gas in the form of synthetic gas (syngas) with the main components consisting of CO, H2, CO2 and N2 and low in pollutants. This study aims to determine the effect of the type of coal seam on the syngas produced, the calorific value of the syngas, and the effect of the air flow rate.","PeriodicalId":177278,"journal":{"name":"Atlantis Highlights in Engineering","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114788404","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the things to be outlined is the limitations of fossil fuels that are getting run out. Due to the higher world oil prices, many people are looking for alternatives to car fuel, one of which is electric motor technology which is applied to electric car vehicles. However, there are problems related to energy, charging, battery which can be monitored by the use of electric vehicles. The development of electric cars in Indonesia was emphasized on a real-time energy monitoring system, the rate of battery life, and the type of charging that will be used for a long time to charge the battery. In this research, we proposed a system for handling the problem of fast charging electric car energy monitors. The monitor is equipped with features such as a battery energy monitor (voltage, current, battery temperature). Finally, the measurements at the test points of voltage, current and battery temperature have been carried out and it is known that the circuit is working properly.","PeriodicalId":177278,"journal":{"name":"Atlantis Highlights in Engineering","volume":"519 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116260898","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the rivers that has a fairly large water discharge is the Kelekar River which is located in the Ogan Ilir Regency area. To calculate the amount of energy generated from the Kelekar River, a prototype micro hydro power plant is designed, then the energy generated from the simulation of the tool will be used as the basis for designing a micro hydro power plant based on actual conditions. From the analysis of water discharge and water fall height based on the condition of the Kelekar river, the design of the tools is obtained as follows: (i) the dimensions of the fast pipe are 0.8 m, (ii) the thickness of the fast pipe is at least 4 mm, (iii) the effective energy height is 3.476 m, (iv) the dimensions of the runner are 0.65 mx 1.50 m, and (v) the power generated is 11.508 kW.","PeriodicalId":177278,"journal":{"name":"Atlantis Highlights in Engineering","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127676516","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Automation in agriculture might be the solution to get a higher quality harvest and less dependency on human farming. The most suitable type of robot for harvesting is an arm robot manipulator. The harvesting robot needs \"eye\" to \"see\" the crop/fruit to be harvested. The detection is made possible by using image processing to get the fruit position. The fruit position is the input for a visual servoing robot. The image processing needs to be simple and effective to ensure less computational time to facilitate the limited memory of the available microcontroller. This paper proposes three image processing methods, i.e., image segmentation, edge detection, and blob analysis. The processes were conducted in SCILAB, and three fruit were used as the model, i.e., oranges, grapes, and tomato cherry. The results showed that all the fruit are detected and isolated by the vegetation background.","PeriodicalId":177278,"journal":{"name":"Atlantis Highlights in Engineering","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131990272","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The saponification procedure produces soap. Soap serves to emulsify dirt in the form of oil or other impurities. Many soaps sold in the market use synthetic additives as antioxidants that can interfere with skin health for those with sensitive skin. The scarcity of soap that uses antioxidants causes the high price of soap that contains antioxidants. This problem can be solved by using existing natural resources such as using green betel leaves and citronella and producing natural antioxidant-dense soap. This study aims to determine the composition of palm oil, olive oil, and virgin coconut oil (VCO) on the quality of making solid soap and obtain variations of solid soap with green betel leaf extract and citronella by the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 06-3532-1994. The method used is by varying the oil, green betel leaf extract, and citronella. Product analysis includes pH, water content, free alkali, free fatty acid, mineral oil, bacterial test, and organoleptic test. The natural antioxidant of the soap products obtained good results from a mixture of palm oil, VCO oil, and olive oil in a ratio of 1: 2: 2.","PeriodicalId":177278,"journal":{"name":"Atlantis Highlights in Engineering","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129456752","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
