This knowledge is needed to determine the as-is state in production plants and to set up factory simulations. While in recent years laser scanning and photogrammetry techniques have facilitated the digitalization of factory environments, the actual simulation model generation is to the greatest possible extent still manual work. In this paper we propose a cross-industry simulation model generation framework that takes in raw point clouds from laser scanners and photogrammetry and outputs a simulation model. We present a deep learning architecture based on PointNet [1], which is capable of semantic scene segmentation, and integrate a CAD model placement routine based on unsupervised learning and point cloud registration. We prove the feasibility of our framework by collecting a scan and photogrammetry dataset at a German automotive assembly plant and applying our framework.","PeriodicalId":176979,"journal":{"name":"2020 9th International Conference on Industrial Technology and Management (ICITM)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128875341","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The key idea of this method is to use SSA to divide the original time series into trend and fluctuation sub-series, separately perform LSTM and SVR approach, then to combine the forecasts generated from each model. Grid search optimization is further utilized to seek for the optimal parameters of the proposed forecasting model. Experiments are conducted to compare the proposed method and several benchmark approaches. Results show that it is statistically significant that the proposed method can provide much better forecasts than other approaches, indicating that our method can be used as a promising tool for the C&DW generation forecasting.","PeriodicalId":176979,"journal":{"name":"2020 9th International Conference on Industrial Technology and Management (ICITM)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131165053","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this sense, Lean Production (LP) is one of the major concepts in the creation of highly efficient processes since the early 1990s, having successfully challenged conventional mass-production practices, reducing non-value-added activities, and delivering quality products focused on customers' satisfaction. Nonetheless, with the latest technologies changes and markets requirements, companies have to led with the emergence of innovative management and production methodologies in order to achieve the necessary flexibility to survive in highly competitive environments. The Fourth Industrial Revolution and the related Industry 4.0 technologies are driving the current manufacturing systems to a new level of organizational development. This manuscript focuses on the work that has been developed by the Group of Industrial Engineering and Management (GIEM) from University of Beira Interior, Portugal, aiming to fill the gap in the broad body of knowledge fields related with operation and management. The theoretical background of LP is summarized, followed by a survey conducted in 87 manufacturing companies located in Angola. Then, an Industry 4.0 overview highlights are summarized. Lastly, it is explored how LP and Industry 4.0 integration can contribute to increasing the desirable flexibility and productivity. Although the results are in progress, so far, it is suggested that the implementation of LP and Industry 4.0 concepts in Angola are not being uniformed in terms of companies' size and geography, which is in line with the available literature.","PeriodicalId":176979,"journal":{"name":"2020 9th International Conference on Industrial Technology and Management (ICITM)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114536287","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The integration of Blockchain with distributed smart grids will provide an even better solution with features like sophisticated consumption monitoring and a robust and scalable energy trading system. Blockchain with its properties of secure recording, anonymity, transparency and distributed implementation will further strengthen the decentralized operation of energy trading among various entities of the smart grid network. However, the full potential of this new network cannot be achieved due to the inherent security and privacy issues. In this research paper, the authors have identified a security vulnerability in the transaction flow implementation. First, an overview of a decentralized energy trading network has been given. Then the process flow has been discussed in detailed at every stage. Finally, two scenarios have been presented where the poor security measures can be exploited to perform a double spending attack (DSA) with a help of a Block Delay Technique.","PeriodicalId":176979,"journal":{"name":"2020 9th International Conference on Industrial Technology and Management (ICITM)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116470604","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In fact, approximately 55% of worldwide losses and waste from fruit and vegetable production come from Latin America. These wastes are due to factors such as deterioration during distribution, fruit flies at harvest time, inadequate selection and classification processes, and climatic factors. Therefore, a waste management model, supported by reverse logistics and the 5S Methodology, was developed to generate added value by leveraging the biomass available. In this model, the 5S Methodology is implemented to reduce waste and improve waste management. Next, biomass production is assessed to estimate its economic and environmental impact on the company. The model proposed is then validated through a case study implementation at Agro Peru SAC, a Peruvian agricultural company. After this implementation, the results obtained reported 2.57% less waste generated, a 2.37% increase in revenue, and a 12.02 % reduction in processing times.","PeriodicalId":176979,"journal":{"name":"2020 9th International Conference on Industrial Technology and Management (ICITM)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121922853","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Tactical production planning cannot neglect the presence of uncertainty due to the length of the planning horizon and the multitude of interacting factors affecting the manufacturing environment. Quantities expressed linguistically are best described by fuzzy sets to capture vagueness and to facilitate decision making in an uncertain context. This work considers developing an aggregate production plan with fuzzy demand and fuzzy cost elements. A fuzzy linear programming model is proposed that aims to minimize the total production costs and penalty costs caused by the unutilized capacity and unsatisfied demand. The proposed model is illustrated via a numerical example reflecting different cases that may occur in industry. The obtained results determine the optimum aggregate production plan while giving the decision-maker the flexibility to select the degree of satisfaction of constraints.","PeriodicalId":176979,"journal":{"name":"2020 9th International Conference on Industrial Technology and Management (ICITM)","volume":"83 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128952674","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are efficient and flexible MILP models for this problem in which time is represented by a number of discrete time intervals. However, they require to use large numbers of binary variables as the number of activities increases and time horizon stretches. Hence efforts have been made to formulate MILP models based on continuous-time representation and therefore to speed up the solution process. We propose two novel MILP models based on the event and resource flow concepts. The models are verified by solving benchmark problems in the literature.","PeriodicalId":176979,"journal":{"name":"2020 9th International Conference on Industrial Technology and Management (ICITM)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127591845","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
