The coupler is fabricated using the Metallic-nanowire-filled-Membrane platform, where the nanoporous alumina substrate is selectively filled with metal, forming nanowires that interconnect the metallic layers, using a simple fabrication procedure. The couplers presented return loss and isolation better than 10 dB for a 20-GHz bandwidth and a maximum power unbalance of 0.4 dB for a 10-GHz bandwidth.","PeriodicalId":175865,"journal":{"name":"2019 SBMO/IEEE MTT-S International Microwave and Optoelectronics Conference (IMOC)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129758912","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The 5Gwm provide bandwidth of at least 100 Mbls per user for an ever increasing number of users. This is prohibitive using Common Public Radio Interface (CPRI) protocol. In order to address this issue, two new fronthaul protocols, named enhanced CPRI (eCPRI) and Open Radio Access Network (O-RAN), have been recently deployed. This paper presents, for the first time, the amount of resource blocks (RBs) per user needed to ensure the minimum data rate of 100 Mb/s per user, and we use the computed minimum value of RBs to compare the fronthaul traffic demanded by the O-RAN protocol with the traffic provided by the CPRI legacy.","PeriodicalId":175865,"journal":{"name":"2019 SBMO/IEEE MTT-S International Microwave and Optoelectronics Conference (IMOC)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114170602","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For that, a dual drive Mach-Zehnder modulator operating at its over-modulating region was used. These results were tested experimentally with a low half-wave voltage modulator to generate equalized combs with 18 GHz spacing between their lines and reasonable flatness.","PeriodicalId":175865,"journal":{"name":"2019 SBMO/IEEE MTT-S International Microwave and Optoelectronics Conference (IMOC)","volume":"27 2","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120854229","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The simulation results were validated by the solar cell antenna’s prototype fabrication and characterization. The proposed antenna has a gain of $4.13 mathrm{dBi}, 15.14 %$ bandwidth, and efficiency of $87.1 %$ at 2.45 GHz. Also, the I-V curves of the solar cell were extracted for indoor irradiation levels. The $I_{S C}$ and the $V_{O C}$ were $2.35 mathrm{~mA}$ and 135 mV, respectively, supplying $100 mu mathrm{W}$ in the maximum power point. The satisfactory results endorse the operability of the prototype for simultaneous operation as solar energy harvesting and radiator element.","PeriodicalId":175865,"journal":{"name":"2019 SBMO/IEEE MTT-S International Microwave and Optoelectronics Conference (IMOC)","volume":"65 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123826610","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We performed simulations using 40 x 256 Gbits/s PM-16QAM modulated channels and by applying a linear power preemphasis in a dB scale on all channels at the transmitter. We implemented the power pre-emphasis using a WSS at the transmitter. The results show that there is an almost linear relationship between the applied pre-emphasis and the signal spectral tilt, but the compensation is not straightforward. The results also show that by minimizing the tilt at the output of the cascade, the minimum OSNR among all channels can be severely penalized due to power attenuation in the preemphasis process.","PeriodicalId":175865,"journal":{"name":"2019 SBMO/IEEE MTT-S International Microwave and Optoelectronics Conference (IMOC)","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117011953","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
