The ever-increasing dependency of users on these search engines and the dynamic nature of the World Wide Web has reduced the accuracy of the search results and increased the search time of an individual. Today, more than ever before, there is a need for search engines to be relevant and precise to the user’s needs and to be able to make decisions about what the user wants to search, and should be able to suggest him similar or related topics of his interest. This increasing need of the search engine to become a decision engine [1] (term coined by Stefan Weitz [2]) brought to fore various creative technological ideas like Tag clouds and AutoComplete [3]. For a better and more relevant search experience, it is crucial that we study the present search behavior of users and its corresponding response by the search engine. This work contemplates the nature of searches made and how they evolve from time to time. The resulting image will be more informative than any of the input images. The fusion in medical images is necessary for efficient diseases diagnosis from multimodality, multidimensional and multiparameter type of images. This paper describes a multimodality medical image fusion system using different fusion techniques and the resultant is analysed with quantitative measures. Initially, the registered images from two different modalities such as CT (anatomical information) and MRI - T2, FLAIR (pathological information) are considered as input, since the diagnosis requires anatomical and pathological information. Then the fusion techniques namely Redundancy Discrete Wavelet Transform (RDWT) and Contour let Transform are applied. Further the fused image is analyzed with five types of quantitative metrics such as Standard Deviation (SD), Entropy (EN), Overall Cross Entropy (OCE), Ratio of Spatial Frequency Error (RSFE), and Power Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) for performance evaluation. Vanajakshi","doi":"10.1109/ICETET.2010.37","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/ICETET.2010.37","url":null,"abstract":"Accurate and precise prediction of traffic variables such as speed, volume, density, travel time, headways etc. is important in traffic planning, design, operations, etc. Short term prediction of these variables plays a very important role in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) applications. Under Indian scenario, this short term prediction of traffic variables has gained greater attention with the recent interest in ITS applications such as Advanced Traveller Information systems (ATIS) and Advanced Traffic Management systems (ATMS). In the context of prediction methodologies, different techniques such as time series analysis, statistical methods, filtering techniques and machine learning techniques have been suggested in different studies in addition to the historic and real time approaches. However, for traffic conditions such as the one existing in India, with its heterogeneous and less lane disciplined traffic, many of these techniques may not bring the accuracy that was reported in literature under homogeneous traffic. There are only very limited studies on the application of these techniques for traffic conditions such as the one existing in India. The present study proposes the application of a recently developed pattern classification and regression technique called support vector machines (SVM) for the short-term prediction of traffic variables under mixed and less lane disciplined traffic conditions. Retrieval based on index terms is vague and noisy. The user information need is more related to concepts and ideas than to index terms. Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) model is a concept-based retrieval method which overcomes many of the problems evident in today's popular word-based retrieval systems. Most retrieval systems match words in the user’s queries with words in the text of documents in the corpus, whereas LSI model performs the match based on the concepts. In order to perform concept mapping, Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) is used. Also key phrases are an important means of document summarization, clustering and topic search. Key phrases give high level description of document contents that indeed makes it easy for perspective readers to decide whether or not it is relevant to them. The v-nozzle with pitch ratio 5.0 used. Experimental investigations have been carried out to study the effects of the V-nozzle turbulators on heat transfer augumentation, friction and enhancement efficiency, in a circular tube. It is found that using the V-nozzle can help to increase considerably the heat transfer rate at about 140% over the plain tube. A maximum gain of 1.19 on enhancement efficiency is obtained for the pitch ratio used, PR=5.0. This indicates that the effect of the reverse/re-circulation flows can improve the heat transfer rate in the tube. An example of where this can happen would be in acoustic echo cancellation applications in hands free telephony. However there exists an alternative solution and that is to implement the filters in the frequency domain. The Discrete Fourier Transform or more specifically the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) allows the conversion of signals from the time domain to the frequency domain in an efficient manner. Acoustic echo cancellation of the frequency domain adaptive filter is compared with time domain adaptive filter. At the planning stage more stability runs are possible if transient stability evaluation is faster. SIME (Single Machine Equivalent) is a method which transforms the dynamics of multimachine power system into single machine which is then analysed to find whether the system is stable or unstable. The instability is detected at an instant before the system actually goes unstable. Suitable control actions can now be taken within this margin so as to make the system stable. SIME uses best features of Time Domain method and Direct Method to carry out transient stability analysis. The Simulation is done for a contingency and critical clearing time and stability margin are found. The technique is tested on 50 machine IEEE test system. If instability is detected Generation scheduling is done to stabilize the system.
