As the greater part of the pictures of seaward establishments, drinking water store and so forth are caught and examined physically by divers. And manual intervention in this regard is dangerous, costly, and time-consuming and yet does not often enable a full assessment. Hence camera based inspection is used to capture the images under water. Using cameras underwater poses major technological challenges. The objects in the submerged images are pale, difficult to sight and examine because the images of such environment loses the details of the object. The articles in the submerged pictures are swoon, hard to see and examine in light of the fact that the pictures of such condition loses the subtleties of the item. The submerged pictures typically experience the ill effects of non-uniform lighting, low difference, slant, obscures and lessened hues. Also, consequently in this examination work, a novel technique has been proposed for dealing with submerged picture slanting and obscuring if there should be an occurrence of unidirectional cyclic waves and roundabout waves to upgrade the perceivability of submerged pictures. The proposed work develops a geometrical model for image restoration from these distortions with good accuracy.","PeriodicalId":17520,"journal":{"name":"Journal of the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology","volume":"40 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79448278","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) has been melt blended into PP using twin screw extrusion process, indifferent ratios for two different set of composites. For first set, 2.5, 5 and 10 wt.%of MWCNT was used whereas for another set 1.25, 3.75 and 7.5% were the values. The extruded pellets were then injection moulded using a 50 Ton machine to produce PP+MWCNT composite flattest specimens according to ASTM standards and were used to carry out the tensile tests. While there is a huge reduction in failure strain and a marginal increase in ultimate tensile strength, there was nearly 65 % increase in young’s modulus with MWCNT as reinforcement. These experimental values were compared with the theoretical values calculated using Halpin-Tsai model for randomly oriented fibres.There was significant deviationof the theoretical data from the experimental data. The comparison and analysis of theoretical and experimental results are carried out in the present work. A mathematical model equation has been fit for the variation of young’s modulus in both the sets of composites. The variation has been found to be constant in terms of the parameters of the equation. This shows the variation of the tensile properties are proportional to the degree of reinforcement. Keywords—Polypropylene, carbon-nanotubes, twin-screw extruder, nano-composites, Halpin-Tsai.","PeriodicalId":17520,"journal":{"name":"Journal of the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology","volume":"45 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89650029","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The oil-film thickness was affected by the bush deformation. Temperature change and deformation because of oil-film pressure are the main contributors toward the total deformation in bearing bush. This work intends to investigate the relative influence of each of these components on performance characteristics. The journal temperature was calculated by use of oil-film temperature. Finite element method was applied for solving the governing equations by using appropriate iterative technique and for computation of journal temperature. Study was performed on symmetric and asymmetric hole-entry hybrid journal bearing configurations to evaluate the thermoelastohydrostatic performance for constant flow valve flow restrictor. Performance of the hole-entry hybrid journal bearing shows that the selection of coefficient of thermal deformation plays vital role in controlling the variation in key bearing design parameters as compared to change in temperature of the lubricating oil and bush.","PeriodicalId":17520,"journal":{"name":"Journal of the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology","volume":"2 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87644085","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
