In order to analyze and mining the structure and characteristics of online network communities with their large number of multimedia data automatically, we look into community photos as an basic data source for community social network construction and community organization structure analysis. By constructing the social network with community photo collection through face recognition algorithms, social network analysis method is used to analysis the community properties and individual characteristics. The effectiveness of different face recognition algorithms on community network construction is also calculated by three defined variables. Experimental analysis results of a real community album demonstrate the community social network characteristics and the influence brought by face recognition algorithms. The analysis method will provide new approach for using the online multimedia information to understanding the community organization structure and characteristics.","PeriodicalId":174908,"journal":{"name":"2013 Sixth International Conference on Business Intelligence and Financial Engineering","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-11-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128946016","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The community micro-blog, which is used as an effective tool by social managers in virtual community, has developed rapidly in recent years. As the basis of government micro-blog system in China, the community blog influence has great importance to guide the public popular feelings and guarantee the safety of the virtual social network. The article focuses on the evaluation methods of the community micro-blog influence. Firstly, an index system is presented, both quantitative index and qualitative index are considered based on the mechanism of information dissemination of micro-blog, Then, principal component analysis (PCA) is used to compose these indexes into some comprehensive indexes to simplify the index system, finally, support vector machine (SVM) is adopted for the evaluation model. Practical examples show that the model established in this paper outperforms others in evaluation accuracy.","PeriodicalId":174908,"journal":{"name":"2013 Sixth International Conference on Business Intelligence and Financial Engineering","volume":"39-40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-11-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114905843","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this purpose, this paper proposes a new method to detect fruit skin defects by using machine vision system, which is proved to be more accurate, more robust to color noise and has more modest calculation cost. The color histogram is extracted in the local image patch as image feature, while the Linear SVM (Support vector machine) is used for model learning. However, reservoir flood control operation is a typical, complex, and nonlinear optimization problem. It is very difficult to directly solve this problem. Linear programming and dynamic programming are usually used to solve it, which can bring big error or curse of dimensionality. IPOPT is a full space, interior point (or barrier) solver, which can solver large-scale nonlinear programming problems very efficiently. So in this paper we used IPOPT to solve reservoir flood control optimization problem. First, the optimization model of reservoir flood control operation was presented for minimizing the downstream flood peak, while the constraints were considered such as water balance, flood pool capacity, and outflow capacity et al. Second, an optimization modeling tool, Pyomo, was used to describe this flood control optimization model, which improved modeling efficiency. In the end, IPOPT was called to solve the model. The case study showed that the approach of solving reservoir flood control optimization problem based on Pyomo and IPOPT was operable and effective. The optimization result was also reasonable.","PeriodicalId":174908,"journal":{"name":"2013 Sixth International Conference on Business Intelligence and Financial Engineering","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-11-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127382902","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By introducing both symmetric and asymmetric models of the generalized autoregressive conditional heteroscedastic (GARCH) family, we use the daily data to estimate the parameters of each model. Finally, the paper assesses these two models by concluding that these two models can capture most characteristics of the exchange rate volatility and both are adequate to model the exchange rate volatility series.","PeriodicalId":174908,"journal":{"name":"2013 Sixth International Conference on Business Intelligence and Financial Engineering","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-11-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125559701","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
