Indeed, the learning process requires a large amount and variety of data. Our motivation in this work is to reduce the dependency on public databases and allow learning with small sets of actions. We overcome the problem of nondiscriminatory action datasets for action recognition by enlarging a set of actions performed by different persons in different ways and captured by a Kinect. We present a way to enlarge the originally captured dataset from a Kinect device or from simply annotated data. This is done by combining the extrema of the action sequences into intervals, creating random points within them, and adding certain variables to discriminate the samples. These actions are learned and tested with a late fusion Adaboost using simple features and a strong classifier for each joint. Finally, a confidence coefficient is calculated and used as input of a higher level Adaboost classifier.","PeriodicalId":174767,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 11th International Workshop of Electronics, Control, Measurement, Signals and their application to Mechatronics","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123786059","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The co-design approach is based on links between the Quality of Control (QoC) provided by the controller and the Quality of Service (QoS) provided by the frame scheduling in the MAC layer of the WLAN. We present, first, the implementation of the relation QoS→QoC on the basis of the delay compensation method called dominant pole method, and second, the implementation of the relation QoC→QoS on the basis of hybrid priorities for the frame scheduling. Finally, we show the interest of the relation QoC⇌QoS i.e. the joint action of the delay compensation and the role of the hybrid priority in order to have a more efficient Wireless Networked Control System (WNCS) design.","PeriodicalId":174767,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 11th International Workshop of Electronics, Control, Measurement, Signals and their application to Mechatronics","volume":"94 6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127986084","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are two groups of data in the database; the first contains data of healthy children; the second contains data of children with developmental dysphasia (DD). The first part of the paper shows the methodology, how the database was created and what data it contains. The next part describes the method used by the authors for diagnosis of DD. We briefly explain methods based on the classification rate of vowel detection, vocalic triangle analysis, length of utterances etc. The aim of the methods is to separate children with DD into groups according to the significance of their disorder.","PeriodicalId":174767,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 11th International Workshop of Electronics, Control, Measurement, Signals and their application to Mechatronics","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129549184","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Indeed, because of the data acquisition system, each star spectrum is spread out over several pixels, which is modeled by the PSF (point spread function). The objective of our work is to develop a method to separate star spectra. The star spectra can be highly correlated and are not sparse. Therefore, the classical blind source separation (BSS) methods based on Independent Component Analysis (ICA) or spectral sparsity are not appropriate to solve this problem. On the other hand, methods based on Non-negative Matrix Factorisation (NMF) are sensitive to the initialization and can't account for a particular structure of the mixing matrix. In this paper, we propose to solve this problem with a Sequential Bayesian method (particle filter). This method is based on a hidden Markov model in which we take into account the particular structure of the mixing matrix (PSF model), prior information about the PSF parameters and star positions but do not use prior information concerning the spectra. The results obtained on a realistic simulated scenario are very encouraging.","PeriodicalId":174767,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 11th International Workshop of Electronics, Control, Measurement, Signals and their application to Mechatronics","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117191175","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed approach relies on an existent specific algorithm. However, to be efficient, this algorithm requires highly precise initial values for both the image features and their depth. This technique requires an accurate knowledge of the rotor position. In many applications, such as mini-UAV, it is not possible to install any mechanical sensor. Therefore, a sensorless technique using position observer has to be implemented in order to estimate the rotor position. In this paper, we propose a new observer for PMSM sensorless control: the position estimate is generated upon electromagnetic relations (dynamics of magnetic flux in the motor) in the two-phase stationary reference frame. The implementation of the proposed observer is not a real burden; its validity is experimentally tested and satisfactory results are obtained regarding real position (and speed set-point) tracking in different operating situations.","PeriodicalId":174767,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 11th International Workshop of Electronics, Control, Measurement, Signals and their application to Mechatronics","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126349891","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Inter-turn short-circuits are among the most critical faults occurring in the PMSG. Indeed, due to the permanent rotor flux, the short-circuit current is maintained as long as the machine is rotating. This faulty current may induce critical effects as much for the machine itself as for its environment. Thus, with regard to safety considerations, corrective actions (such as mechanical disconnect of the PMSG) have to be considered to reduce the fault incidence. In this work, focus is made on an important stage of the whole safety process, i.e the detection stage. Usually employed for sensorless or adaptative control, an EKF is used for detection purpose. Through the EKF estimated parameters, an indicator for interturn short-circuits is build. Simulation and experimental results are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.","PeriodicalId":174767,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 11th International Workshop of Electronics, Control, Measurement, Signals and their application to Mechatronics","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127015407","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
